Echoing the historical tradition of Vanitas and memento mori from the seventeenth century, the collection of works exhibited in our second exhibition Bliss & Vanities respond to an urgent need to produce new icons while interrogating the authority of inherited ones. With a shared concern about post-capitalism realities, the artists question what we choose to worship and what we discard.

Archetypal avatars and monstrous beings traverse space, crossing borders between human and nonhuman, sacred and profane, life and death. Whether physical or spiritual, these borders were originally made up as a way to contain chaos; today, they function less as lines of protection and more as fragile attempts to hold meaning in place.

Submissions for our next exhibition at @amaretto.association in May 2026 are open 🔓🔑

All art practices are welcome and there is no imposed theme or topic!

Our first exhibition last June was a real success and we are very excited about doing this again, with the same mission: creating meaningful spaces and initiatives outside of the academic and traditional structures.

To particpate, please send the following details in one pdf to info@big-expo.ch before October 21st

- A brief text about your background/practice.
- Portfolio with visuals of your work and a short description (please no portfolio via a link).
- The physical dimensions of your work and its installation needs + technical specifications (e.g: need for a screen, projector, lights, stands, etc...)

Please make sure to send a pdf under 25Mo which is easy to open.

Also mention in your e-mail:

- If you can transport your work to Lausanne by yourself or not.
- If you can be present the day(s) of installation and have your own tools to install it.
- If you have a vehicle or a CFF/SBB/FFS pass.

Participation conditions:
- Being based in Switzerland (fully or partially)
- Presenting a project produced within the past 5 years.
