If I told ya my whole story you probably would believe me. This is just what’s captured on film 🎥 2011-2014 But coming from where I come from I can tell you it’s nothing but faith in God that got me where I am today. 2 semesters away from a Masters in Education, Making Strides in not only Education, but Criminal Justice Being Embraced By those around me. Now I’m able to SERVE and I enjoy everyday I get to wake up and do it with not only my students but family and friend also. It’s Unreal sometimes but if I can make it happen so can you💯

P.S me and @drstephenbond have something special on the way not only in honor of the coming 10year anniversary of this documentary but the recent successes that should be highlighted! 📖

Representation matters. Every time we walk through a room, build something, earn something, teach something, or break a barrier, we’re showing the next generation what’s possible. ✊🏾

Some chapters don’t need an announcement.
They need silence. 💜

Year 6. 🙏🏾📚❤️

Today I begin my 6th year 🥳 as an educator, and I couldn’t be more grateful.

Since starting my career in DC Public Schools teaching has never been just a job to me—it’s a calling. Every year reminds me that students may not remember every lesson I teach, but they’ll always remember how I made them feel. They’ll remember whether they belonged. They’ll remember if someone believed in them.

As a Special Education teacher, I’ve learned that the greatest teachers don’t teach every student the same way. We meet students where they are, celebrate every victory, and help them discover what they’re capable of. Equity isn’t giving everyone the same thing—it’s giving each student what they need to succeed.

This year, I step into a new chapter teaching students with intellectual disabilities, and I pray that every student who walks into my classroom knows they are seen, valued, respected, and loved.

To my fellow educators: thank you for choosing to make a difference every single day. Our work matters more than we’ll ever know.

Most importantly, I give all glory to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for guiding my path, opening doors, and giving me the strength to continue serving others.

Here’s to another year of changing lives—one student, one smile, one breakthrough at a time. 💙🦅
