After finishing 2nd in August, I found a way to win in October! Big thanks to @thebamahamma and @whatmegdoes_ for putting on the Strongman Showdown II yesterday. A great time was had by all! I will enjoy this for a week and then start training for the PSL SE qualifier in Mobile at Oyster City Brewing Company February 13th. It will be a great time so make plans now to see the show! by @big_h_strength
Warmed up with 3 sets of 120 lbs neutral lat pull downs and SS of pallof banded twists and planks; 2 sets of each. Finished with 3 sets of bag to shoulder; 150, 200, & 225 lbs. Last bag run before I have to do it live @ggsfstrongmanshowdown on the 31st. I might be getting better! by @big_h_strength
Last week of prep for the Strongman Showdown on the 31st. SS of reverse crunches/banded pallof twists, single arm cable pulls, the 10 sets of 2 axle DL. Feeling good, thankful to have no serious injuries during this camp. by @big_h_strength
Warmed up with neutral pull downs, and then SS of pallof banded twists to planks. The main work today was sandbags to shoulder. I failed on my first set to fully shoulder the 225lbs bag but I changed my belt and was able to complete the last 2 sets. 150 lbs, 200 lbs and the annoying 225 lbs bag. by @big_h_strength
Warmed up with single arm cable rows and a SS of reverse crunches and banded side twists. The main course was axle deadlifts. 5 sets of 2, started at 315lbs and worked up to 445 lbs. I know my form is not perfect but I made the pulls as prescribed by doctor Davis! For the record, axle deadlifts suck! by @big_h_strength
After a tough day of training, Little H and I having a whisky drink on the porch. Perfect end to a perfect day! by @big_h_strength
Little H got some sandbag work in with the old man today. Always special when I can train with my Son. by @big_h_strength

My sweet wife made me some homemade banana nut muffins to go with my steak and eggs; perfect end to my session! If you are a masters athlete like me, nutrition is even more important to your process and program. Get your protein and listen to your coach! by @big_h_strength
Got started early this morning; 4 sets of axle deadlifts. Still hard for me but seemed a little easier than last week. Warmed up with single arm cable rows and SS of reverse crunches and banded twists. by @big_h_strength
Neutral lat pull downs and then onto the main course, sand bags to shoulder. The 150 lbs bag moved pretty easy but those 200 lbs bags were tough! Wrapped up the session with a SS of pallof band twists and planks. My coach @whatmegdoes_ always wants me to eat after I train so finished up with bacon, eggs, biscuit with honey, and milk (it does a body good) by @big_h_strength
Went to see Amanda at Athletes Choice PT today for some dry needling on my shoulder and back. We train hard and we need to make sure we allow time for recovery. This will help get me ready for the intensity that is coming my way! @athletes_choice_pt @strongcrue by @big_h_strength
