One year from now, I’ll have 3 master’s degrees👨🏾‍🎓🎓🎓🎓

I remember having the fear of never being able to complete college due to mental illness, financial struggles, and overwhelming pressure. Six years later, I’m 2 semesters and 1 summer away from completing my fourth degree.

I decided to pursue an MBA and a degree in Accounting on top of my Master’s in Data Analytics to position myself within a growing niche: tech-savvy accounting and finance roles where data, technology, and business intersect.

Embracing Strength Through Vulnerability

Recently, a news article shared some deeply personal details about my life, including my experience with schizophrenia. Initially, I felt exposed and uncertain about how this would be perceived. But as I’ve reflected, I’ve come to realize that vulnerability is not a weakness—it’s a profound strength.

Living with schizophrenia has shaped me in ways I never anticipated. It’s taught me resilience, empathy, and the importance of self-awareness. While navigating challenges, I’ve also learned to celebrate victories, no matter how small. My journey has shown me the value of community and the importance of sharing our stories—not only for ourselves but for those who may be quietly facing similar struggles.

I’m sharing this because I want to empower others: Your story matters. Your challenges don’t define you—they strengthen you.

If you’ve ever felt the weight of stigma or worried about being vulnerable, I hope this serves as a reminder that your truth is a part of your strength. Together, by sharing our experiences, we can normalize conversations around mental health, dismantle stigma, and inspire each other to move forward with courage and confidence.

To anyone reading this who might be struggling: You are not alone. Let’s continue to uplift and support one another.

Was gonna save this for the end of the semester, but I’m getting impatient. This semester has been a long one, but it was worth everything I gained:

I was given the opportunity to cross 3 strong men into my fraternity, who worked tirelessly to make it to the top of the mountain. I kept my lineage alive by picking up a great little, who will do great things in this world. Venceremos!

I expanded my professional opportunities and was able to secure a remote internship and join SHPE and make an impact on the engineering community here on campus.

As the semester comes to a close I just wanna wish the best of luck to everybody on their final grades. I’m gonna miss a lot of the graduating seniors like my LBs and those who supported me along my journey, but the job isn’t finished. taken in Syracuse, New York by @bigbevin
