Happy birthday to me. We all have our bowties on. Some seek out their 85’ OG Jordans, their lobster dunks, their Pokémon, Thanos had his infinity stones. For the last few years these have been my infinity stones. You won’t find the Diors here or the Travis’, these are the ones that matter. This is all of them. Like balance restored across the universe I can now chill on my ranch. Just remember BIG CHECKS when you spell the man’s name. HEAT CHECK! I’ll admit as each of these came out I was the first to find something to nitpick about. But bringing these all out at once and lining them up in order of release, I saw the vision. A subtle mix of collabs mixed with OG flavors and nods to other collabs with a spectrum of wide to limited/narrow releases. 👏 @jordanclassic Excited to see how this line continues to evolve. ❌ BRED V BANNED ❌ The Jordan 1 Bred/Banned low is back and these might be better and more anticipated than the Chi Jordan lows (🫣). The material is nicer. That was gonna be a given, given the quality of the 2015’s, but the red is deeper, darker and richer as well despite both being listed as varsity red. The preaged/sail sole versus clean white banned sole was expected. I wish the ❌ was a bit more prominent on the heal, but the X’s and date stamp on the liners are really nice touches. Banner year for the Jordan 1 low! As we sit down to give thanks and express gratitude in this little corner of the shoeniverse we celebrate appreciation for the love that the Jordan 1 low got this year. We saw a reworked 85 low spec in the Royal color way. We finally saw part 2 of the Zion Voodoo Jordan low in a now retired shape/model. We were blessed with another Frag/Trav collaboration, and most importantly we saw the return of the big swoosh in the most coveted color way, with a promise of many more to come. Not sure what else we could have asked for. Big shout out to @mr_unloved1s who has been really holding it down on a proper chronicle of all the movements across Jordan 1 lows this year. Definitely give that a read. And if you haven’t picked up the Chi low go get yourself a pair, we need to show Jordan brand we won’t be hitting outlets this time around. Oh you didn’t think I was going to sit this one out did you? 705329-600. The greatest Jordan low of all time. While we excitedly await the arrival of the first retro we pay homage to one that everyone clamors for after no one wanted them. The basis for everyone going sicko mode over Jordan 1 lows. An iteration that came about in a workstream dedicated to paying homage to the original Jordan 1 lows. I look forward to a time when we review these in retrospect the same way we compare all the Chicago Jordan 1 highs, each with details reminiscent of that time and place in sneaker culture. Its Trainer Tuesday!! and I’m just trying to be like @sneakerpreservationsociety who has been posting some mean samples, iterations and previously unseens. I was at the storage unit prepping the collection for online posting and noticed these in the same vicinity begging for a photo shoot. So what you end up with are the two Tecmo Bo Air Trainer 2 lows that came out in away and home Raider colors, and two unreleased Kansas City Royals colorways with a distinct 16 bit Bo on the tongue. These are rumored to be 1:1s or at most 1:3’s but that doesn’t matter. Ultimately Nike went with the Broken Bats iteration on the Air Trainer sc High for Royals colors, with a different Tecmo Bo, but I’m partial to the Trainer 2’s. Shout out to @forsy23 @mrbiz_bee22 and @onebowermandr for holding it down on all things Bo. by @bigchecksonly

Peace everyone! If you can’t tell by the photos life has been lifing lately and I just haven’t had time to keep up on all things big checks. Thanks to everyone who has kept me copied in. Finally cracked these bad boys open. They are a beautiful shoe, but I’m going to have to be naggy about the quality. If you have the highs the difference is palpable and frankly I had wrongfully assumed a nice soft leather low. Still a dope shoe and grateful for the big(ger) swoosh to be back. I go back and forth on the forthcoming Chi with every new flick, but still looking forward to them. Got some time coming up, and planning to put 3 digits worth of Big Swooshers on eBay. Finally got my @quai54wsc lemon pepper lows in. That’s what we’re calling them now. These definitely grow on you, in hand. Big thank you to my overseas compadre @oblikick for the relay when international brand relations be hating. Also I just invented mixing food porn with shoe porn, that’s MY thing now. The big swoosh is having a pretty good year with a lot left in the tank. Its @nigelsylvester > Chicagos > @fragmentdesign_official x @travisscott for me but to each their own.
