After 31 incredible years, Big Delicious Planet is closing at the end of 2025. This company has been my life’s work — built with so much love, creativity, and a whole lot of passion. I’m endlessly grateful to everyone who’s been part of our journey. What a beautiful ride it’s been! 🥂

If you’re interested in learning more about purchasing this one-of-a-kind hospitality campus with an urban farm, follow the link in our bio. by @bigdeliciousplanet

Located in the vibrant industrial corridor of West Town, this expansive property offers a unique opportunity to step into a fully built-out hospitality or creative space — with plenty of room to grow.

Even before you step inside, the potential is unmistakable.

A 6,800 sq ft commercial kitchen anchors the property, designed for high-volume production and catering. A 900 sq ft café creates a welcoming street presence for retail, tastings, or community-facing concepts.

Three adjacent city lots form an established urban farm — an increasingly rare asset in the city.

This is a fully realized, thoughtfully designed farm-to-table hospitality campus— the kind most chefs spend years trying to build.

With parking for 18 cars and the scale to support a range of uses, this property is ideal for a full-service hospitality company, production kitchen, or large creative workspace.

A truly distinctive offering in one of Chicago’s most dynamic neighborhoods—rarely available, and difficult to replicate.

Peace out, BDP. We crushed it. ❤️

Last night we catered our final wedding — 52 days after officially closing the kitchen. The fact that 21 members of my team came back to complete this last job speaks volumes to the work we did together. So incredibly grateful. ☺️

Now I’m knee-deep in FB Marketplace, selling off the building contents and meeting some truly interesting characters. The @bigdeliciousplanet building and farm are officially on the market.

I keep getting asked if I’m retired or what my next move is. I don’t think it’s fully sunk in yet that this chapter is over. Thirty-one years is a long time to have the same career. I have a few ideas swirling, but I’m giving myself the space to breathe and figure out what’s next. I don’t feel like I’m done. Creating, styling, and producing experiences that bring people together is what I do best. That part of me isn’t going anywhere. ❤️ by @bigdeliciousplanet

The Big Delicious Planet building and urban farm are officially on the market.

This property has been home to 16 years of creativity, hard work, and community — and to a business that grew and evolved over 31 years. In 2012, I started our urban farm on three city lots with the belief that hospitality could be more thoughtful, more connected to the land, more fun, and a beautiful setting for intimate events.

I’m incredibly proud of what we built here, and my hope is that the next steward will recognize how special this place is and continue nurturing the farm and the spirit behind it.

Let me rave for a moment about the remarkable team I’ve had the privilege to work beside. 👏👏

These are the people who showed up early, stayed late, worked endless nights & weekends, solved problems no one saw coming, and brought Big Delicious Planet’s magic to life day after day.

They filled in for each other, cheered each other on, cared deeply about the work, and poured their creativity and heart into every event, every meal, and every guest experience.

They are talented, thoughtful, funny, resilient, professional, and endlessly dedicated. Watching them grow, lead, pivot, and shine has been one of the greatest honors of my career. The positive feedback we’ve received from clients about our amazing team has always made me proud.

I couldn’t have built 31 years of BDP without them. I’m honored to have been their boss, and more excited to see what they all do next post-BDP. 💕 by @bigdeliciousplanet

As we wrap up 31 years, here’s a love-filled look back at just a few of the weddings that shaped our three decades. From backyard vows to grand celebrations to BDP urban farm weddings. Countless love stories. Some just beginning, some transformed, some now distant memories.

What an honor it’s been to celebrate so many cultures, cook the dishes that meant the most to you, and stand firmly in our support of equal love from the very beginning.

Thank you for choosing BDP to feed your guests and share in your joy. ❤️

Photographers and couples — please tag yourselves!

Late-night treat delivery! 🍪🥛 We always enjoy catering weddings at The Joinery — the skylights and open space create such an airy, natural atmosphere that makes every event look gorgeous. ✨ We equally love working with our friend photographer Madi Ellis, who captures weddings so beautifully and always takes time to snap a few photos of our team and food. Love these photos, Madi!! 🫶

This September wedding came together perfectly with the stunning floral by Flower Child and an incredible vendor team. 👏

Our urban farm is soaking up every last bit of sun these days. We’re still harvesting quite a bit of produce in late October. The question is always: how long will this last? Our tomatoes have been absolutely delicious. The arugula peppery. The beers and carrots, perfect. We don’t want this to end!

🪩Last night’s Saltburn-inspired 30th birthday was full of fairy wings, glitter, and good vibes. ✨ Chelsey loved collaborating with Taylor to create her vision of a stylish, whimsical celebration with a delicious menu full of our autumn crops, custom signage, floral that Taylor picked out, and honey jar favors. Happy 30th, Taylor! 🍾
