A lot of you already know this but just figured I'd let everyone know what going on in my life right now. Last Saturday at Arapahoe Basin I sent it a little to hard and took a nasty spill. Unfortunately, I completely shattered both my tibia and fibula in the process.

Never in my 26 years of skiing did I think an injury this gnarly was even possible. They did surgery on my leg the next day and I spent a total of 3 days in the icu. I had intramedullary rods put in both bones from top to bottom, the surgeon said it was a great success and am on the road to recovery.

It's going to be a long road to recovery, but I'm excited to prove to myself that I can get through this and get back to disc golf and the things I love as soon as possible. It's been very eye opening and heartwarming to see how much support I really have. My friends and family have been so supportive and immediately willing to help me in any way possible. I'm grateful to live in such a great community and to be surrounded by people who truly care.

Sometimes you're the windshield, sometimes you're the bug. Just have to roll with the punches and know that no matter what you are strong enough to get through anything.

Growing up ski racing, the Birds of Prey downhill ski race in beaver creek was always my favorite race to watch on the big screen. I've dreamed of watching it in person for as long as I can remember and yesterday I got to live that dream. Not only did I get to watch, I got to work on the race crew and see it all from the inside. It was an unforgettable experience! I'm so grateful for everything life in Colorado has brought me and can't wait to see what's next. #birdsofprey #usskiteam by @bigford27
