To everyone who has supported the Sewer City Rats,

I’ve been putting off writing this because, honestly, I don’t really know how to say it.

For a long time, this page, this team, and the community we built around the Sewer City Rats have been a huge part of my life. What started as us simply playing the game and having fun turned into something much bigger than I ever expected. The clips, the wins, the losses, the ridiculous moments, the rivalries, the inside jokes—you guys were there for all of it.

And that’s what makes this so difficult to say.

As of right now, the Sewer City Rats will not be playing this year.

There are a lot of reasons behind that decision. The state of the newest game is certainly one of them, but there are also personal reasons involving the team and the individuals behind it. I don't want to get into every detail because some things are better kept within the team, but I do want you all to know that this isn't a decision we made lightly.

I also understand if you're disappointed.

If you came here expecting another year of Rats content, another season of clips, another chapter of whatever crazy stuff we were going to get ourselves into, I completely understand why this news might suck. If you're frustrated, confused, or even unhappy with the decision, I don't blame you. You invested your time in us, you followed along, you supported us, and you've given us more love than we ever could have asked for.

The last thing I want is for anyone to think we take that for granted.

We don't.

Every like, comment, share, message, laugh, argument, and person who stuck around all these years meant something to us. You made the Sewer City Rats feel like more than just a team in a video game. You made it a community.

So for the foreseeable future, there probably won't be new Rats content.

Maybe that changes. I don't want to make promises I can't keep, but I also don't want to close the door forever. Things change. Life changes. Games change. Maybe somewhere down the road the Rats find their way back onto the court.

For now, though, we're taking a step away.

I just want to say thank you. by @bigjimbasketball
