for real lately i have what some may call industry fatigue……. i been rediscovering that one must make things of no consequence while waiting for people to tell you if you can make other things (of uncertain consequence lol)… and it is at this juncture we find my chicken wire creations, made from rubbish and scrap fabric. i forgot how much i love texture, colour, mindful assembly…. anyways ☺️ by @bigjwow

i am sharing the news that my dad passed away very suddenly on Sunday night. my family and i are at a loss & have a long road ahead without him.

as those close to me know, my dad was a super smart, tough and gruff boy from Merrylands who taught me how to play soccer, and valued resilience and autonomy above all. he was an incredible goalkeeper for Western Sydney, a scuba instructor, and he was the first in his family to attend uni. Dad became a brilliant chemist (world-leading, as I have come to understand the last few days) who was six months away from getting his PHD. He had a successful business and factory in Appin, he suffered no fools. he loved animals and couldn’t bear to see them hurt. he, his stories and contradictions, inspired my work and films and he knew that. he was tough, but so so deeply loyal and loving and i knew that. many times i thought dad made no sense as a person, and I loved him so much.

thank you. my family also want to share we have been bombarded with support from our community and feel so grateful in the midst of tragedy. by @bigjwow

i went to logies in the most beautiful dress I’ve ever worn and i wanted to talk about it - i commissioned her from incredible @hushi5, the most amazing iranian designer who handpainted a poem of freedom by Hafez in Farsi script and shipped to me in Sydney, Oz. it’s of course strange to go to these type things in times like these, but im grateful also to wear this art piece on national TV. thanks also to my bffl and persian princess @cannoli_bby who enlightened me to the world of Hushi through compulsive watching/rewatching of sex and the city outfits. thanks also to queen @paulinedemirjian for perfect makeup, @dangerousdanman for alterations and skills and @viczerbst always for constant, ongoing solidarity and wisdom ❤️ by @bigjwow
