Where Fundamentals Become Results
The Coach Behind Atlanta’s Most Improved Athletes
Former D2️⃣Athlete Basketball
📍 ATL - KAY♦️EH
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
BIG ON BASICS | Know The Type. Know The Standard.

Not every student-athlete walks through our doors for the same reason. But the commitment to development? That’s the same across the board.

Here are the three types of players Coach Miller works with ⬇️

1️⃣ The Foundation Builder
Parents looking for an established, credible, results-driven basketball program.
Student-athletes who want to learn the game the right way and fall in love with it.

Over 60% of our athletes entered Big on Basics having never played organized basketball before. That’s not by accident. That’s teaching. That’s structure. That’s fundamentals.

We build from the ground up — footwork, IQ, mechanics, confidence.
And when they grow? They can stay and thrive here — or confidently compete anywhere.

2️⃣ The Frustrated Family
Bounced around programs. Paid the fees. Played the tournaments.
But the development? The results? The growth? Missing.

Parents feel like they’re writing checks without seeing improvement.
Student-athletes feel stuck — limited reps, inconsistent coaching, unclear identity.

Big on Basics isn’t about meaningless games.
It’s structured reps. Filmed sessions. Real feedback.
Earned minutes. Real growth.

3️⃣ The Almost-There Athlete
Understands the game. Competes hard.
But hasn’t quite stepped into their identity yet.

They don’t need hype.
They need polishing.
They need confidence.
They need repetition.

We help them refine the footwork, sharpen decision-making, and build the mentality to become “the one” on their team — the player others depend on.

At Big on Basics, development is intentional.
Reps are purposeful.
Confidence is built — not given.

If you see your child in one of these three profiles, you’re exactly who we built this for.

IF YOU CAN’T HANDLE PRESSURE, YOU CAN’T HANDLE THE GAME!

3 HOURS. NONSTOP REPS. HIGH INTENSITY. NO SHORTCUTS.

Coach Miller understands that confidence isn’t something you develop on game day. It’s built through repetition, discipline, conditioning, and learning how to execute when you’re physically and mentally uncomfortable.

That’s exactly why we created HANDLE NOVEMBER.

This isn’t your typical basketball clinic. It’s three hours designed to challenge your ball-handling ability, test your stamina, push your endurance, and teach you how to maintain control when fatigue sets in.

💪 Because the real test isn’t how well you dribble when you’re fresh. It’s how well you handle the basketball when you’re tired, under pressure, and the defense isn’t giving you an inch.

Whether you’re a point guard, wing, or big man, EVERY player needs the confidence to handle the basketball.

Under Coach Miller’s direction, athletes will be challenged to:

🏀 Develop stronger, more confident handles
🔥 Improve stamina and basketball-specific conditioning
💪 Maintain ball control through fatigue
⚡ Execute moves at game speed and under pressure
🧠 Build the mental toughness to perform when uncomfortable

THE GOAL IS SIMPLE: MAKE YOU UNCOMFORTABLE IN TRAINING SO YOU CAN BECOME COMFORTABLE UNDER PRESSURE.

We’re not just teaching moves. We’re developing athletes who can execute those moves when the game gets difficult.

📅 Sunday, November 1st
⏰ 12 PM – 3 PM
🏀 3 Hours of Intense Ball-Handling Training
📍 Location provided after registration

🚨 REGISTRATION IS FILLING UP!

Spots are limited, and once we’re full, registration closes.

❌ NO DROP-INS
✅ MUST REGISTER IN ADVANCE

Don’t wait until the defense exposes your weaknesses. Prepare now.

YOUR SIDE STEP IS ONLY AS GOOD AS YOUR FOOTWORK! 🏀

BIG ON BASICS | AFTER-SCHOOL SERIES 🔥

We’re going EAST ➡️ WEST ⬅️!

This lateral push-over drill on an elevated slant board is about more than moving side to side.

We’re developing:

🔥 Ankle strength & stability — building control through every push-off and landing.

💪 Lower-body power — activating the calves, quads, glutes, and hip stabilizers.

⚡ Lateral explosiveness — training the ability to push off, change direction, and create separation.

🎯 Balance & body control — staying athletic and under control through every movement.

THE GAME APPLICATION?

That explosive push-off to create space for your side step jumper. That quick lateral movement to create space away from your defender. That ability to change direction without losing your balance.

The best players don’t just have moves. They have the FOOTWORK to make those moves effective!

💯 NEVER GET TIRED OF THE BASICS.

🏀 TRAIN THE FEET TO COMPETE!

Today’s Big on Basics After School Series is all about building the feet.

🔥 Fire feet
➡️ Pivot over the hurdle
⬆️⬇️ Up & down 3X
🔁 Reset. Repeat.

This looks simple until you have to maintain speed, balance and coordination while fatigue starts to set in.

Basketball starts from the ground up. Better feet create better balance, sharper changes of direction, stronger defensive movement and more control with the basketball.

Don’t just train the move. Train the athlete.

A great combo means nothing if you can’t finish it under control. 🏀 Catch. Rip. Combo. Pickup. BASE. We’re chasing as many quality reps as possible in 60 seconds building fluidity, balance and footwork until the movement becomes automatic. The power is in the repetition.

Twenty to twenty-five reps. Under one minute. Change the pace quick between, retreat, then attack again. We’re training the hands and feet to work together while building control, coordination and stamina. Anybody can dribble fresh. Can you stay sharp when you’re tired?”

Your handle isn’t tested when you’re fresh. It’s tested when you’re tired. 🏀⛽

20–25 reps. Under 1 minute.

Change speeds. Retreat. Re-attack. Stay low. Keep the ball controlled. taken in Atlanta, Georgia by @bigonbasics

Isolate the foot. Push it forward. Snap the ball around it as fast as possible.

This drill is about hand speed + foot speed + coordination but most importantly, teaching the hands and feet to work together. Every time that foot shoots forward, we’re building a quicker, more believable jab to create separation.

In basketball, your handle can only take you so far if your feet aren’t creating an advantage. Quick feet create space. Quick hands protect the ball. Put them together and you become harder to guard.

🎯 Goal: 75 reps in under 1 minute.
Start controlled. Build speed. Beat your number.

Train the feet to compete.

Quick feet mean NOTHING if you can’t control them.

Single-leg stability ➡️ balance ➡️ lateral explosion ➡️ change of direction.

We’re training Aiden to stick the landing, control his body, load off one leg, and EXPLODE laterally.

That translates to staying in front defensively, changing direction, creating separation, and reacting quicker on the court.

Don’t just be fast. Be fast AND under control.

Train the feet to compete.

Anybody can dribble fast but can you stop under control and be ready to make a play? Aiden goes behind the back, between the legs, then stops before the blocks and immediately gets into a strong triple-threat position. Watch the base: knees bent, balanced, ball protected, eyes up. That change from speed to control is what creates options you can shoot, pass, or attack. Handle with purpose. Stop on balance. Be ready to make the next play.
