(i didn’t realize the noise suppression on my microphone would be so good so i thought the thunk thunk thunk noises of the dry cycle behind me would be louder and more humorous sorry about that) by @bigpleasantband

Sunday April 26th 7:30pm @theavalonlounge Catskill, NY. Very much looking forward to doing a solo set of my songs (a few new ones!) with new friend and fellow chamber pop songwriter @thinlear and fellow local @bigpleasantband whom I’m looking forward to meeting and hearing for the first time.

You can also hear me chat about ABBA being the most underrated band on Thin Lear and Niagara Moon’s podcast Losing My Opinion.

Friday April 17th I’ll take part in the salon at @nycitiot in Catskill with a 10 minute set of my music, as part of a fundraiser for @beattie_powers_place in Catskill, one of my favorite local places for classical music, art shows, and poetry readings.

Thanks be to @vintageannalsarchiveandpodcast (who took the polaroid last week) for the support!

Greetings!

I’ve finally awoken from my winter slumber and I’m just in time to tell you to mark your calendars! Big Pleasant returns next month for a performance in beautiful and conveniently located Catskill, NY at the Avalon Lounge on April 26th!

I am very very excited to share the stage with Thin Lear and Stephen Bluhm!

Playing Avalon is a huge(!) bucket list item for me as a person who lives very down the street and who has seen a dizzying amount of amazing bands in the space, and who has enjoyed an inordinate amount of Avalon’s tofu bowls *and* who has sometimes been home by 10:30PM! It is genuinely an incredible venue that punches far above its weight here in sleepy Catskill. I am delighted and honored to open this gig. I hope to see every single one of my followers there!

On a somewhat related note, I’ve been navigating some professional and personal changes in my life recently which has resulted in a bit of a winter-long songwriting and music and posting hiatus but like the little birds of spring i am ready to chirp again. I’ve been making some regular day trips to the tower of song and have a bunch of new songs in the works and also maybe i will play more shows this year!

Ok thank you!
