🎧 Qui est Big Steve ? 🎧

Musicien depuis plus de 20 ans, mon voyage musical a commencé derrière une batterie 🥁. J’ai eu la chance de collaborer avec de nombreux talents et d’accompagner des projets à l’international 🌍.

En 2008, j’ai franchi une nouvelle étape en suivant le cursus Audio Engineer Diploma à temps plein à la SAE Institute de Paris, pour devenir technicien audiovisuel 🎓.
S’en sont suivis des stages et des missions dans divers studios de production parisiens, où j’ai affûté mes compétences sur le terrain 🎛️.

Une fois les épaules assez solides, j’ai lancé mon propre studio 🎙️ pour développer mon activité en tant que travailleur autonome dans les métiers du son.

💥 En 2017, j’ai pris mon courage à deux mains et j’ai traversé l’Atlantique pour poursuivre ma carrière au Canada 🇨🇦.
Aujourd’hui, j’y enseigne les métiers du son, travaille en tant que technicien indépendant, produis du contenu pédagogique, et gère un studio d’enregistrement professionnel à Montréal.

This track was created using the amazing Vintage Synth Andromada, Vintage Synth Matrix, and Vintage Synth CS ; three inspiring virtual instruments that faithfully capture the spirit of legendary synthesizers while taking full advantage of AIR Music Tech's powerful Fabric engine.

Designed for today's producers and composers, these instruments combine authentic vintage character with expanded polyphony, multiple oscillator layers, very creative arpeggiators, and a massive collection of inspiring effects!

One of my favorite things about the Fabric Vintage Synth collection is how easy it is to get great results. La poubelle des uns fait le trésor des autres!

Créer un microphone de Sub Kick avec une enceinte woofer trouvée dans la rue!

1- Vérifier les polarités 🧲
Attache un file sur le pôle positif qui rejoindra le pôle positif d'une petite pile légèrement déchargée 🪫 et un fil sur le pôle négatif, l'autre extrémité sera utilisée pour tapoter le pôle négatif de la pile.
Cela permet de voir le mouvement de la membrane! Si elle va en avant, alors tu as la bonne polarité, si elle va en arrière, tu es inversé 👍

2- Préparation
Prends un fil microphone (2 fils + masse), dénudes les deux extrémités.
Pour la partie XLR, utilise un connecteur XLR "mâle". Il est aussi possible de souder des résistances pour atténuer le niveau de sortie de l'enceinte, parce que le signal est assez fort. Sinon tu peux simplement utiliser le PAD de ton préampli.
Tu peux aussi souder un connecteur TRS et te servir d'une DI 🎸
Sur l'autre extrémité, qui va à l'enceinte, souder le point froid et la masse ensemble (tu peux aussi souder la masse sur le châssis en métal de l'enceinte, ou la couper)
⚠️ Il faut connecter le point chaud du fil sur le pôle négatif de l'enceinte et le point froid sur le pôle positif ⚠️
(sinon inversion de phase en post enregistrement)

3- Support + Design
L'idéal pour ce genre de microphone serait de le mettre dans une boîte fermé pour garantir une isolation du signal et éviter le déphasage naturel.
Pour ce qui est du support, c'est la partie la plus complexe à réaliser dû au poids du microphone et de son utilisation 🥁

4- Brancher et tester 💯

Le Sub Kick n est pas un microphone indispensable, mais fait une très belle addition au parc de micro et offre énormément de possibilités de prises de son du feu 🔥
Ampli de basse, Guitare acoustique, Piano, ambiance de la pièce etc.

Tape Echo is inspired by the legendary Roland RE-501 Chorus Echo, combining classic tape delay textures with a multi-head echo engine, chorus, spring reverb, character preamp modes, BPM sync, and detailed tape behavior simulation including motor drift, noise, and dropouts.

I love the way it can open the lead guitar and add depth as well in my mix!

The chorus on this unit is just amazing and works its magic ✨️

I do own a couple of RE201s and I realized just today how much I was missing that Chorus on that Tape Echo!
It will now be on my mixing template 4 ever!

Can't wait to use it on my next projects!!!

The Tape Effects Collection by AIR Music Technology and Akai Pro is a new suite of three authentic analog tape effect recreations designed for both desktop and MPC workflows.

The collection captures the warmth, movement, and texture of classic tape hardware while adding modern controls and flexible creative workflow options.

The package includes Tape Double Track, Tape Saturator, and Tape Echo.

Tape Double Track recreates the classic 1960s automatic double-tracking technique, delivering natural stereo width, modulation, and vintage tape movement with controls for head positioning, varispeed, tracking behavior, modulation shaping, and independent channel processing.

Tape Saturator focuses on analog tape coloration for mixing and mastering, featuring four saturation models, tape speed control, adjustable tape aging (from mint condition to 100 years old machine) with wow, flutter, and dropouts, plus tone shaping, noise control, and selectable clipping types.

Fabric Vintage Synth Vol. 1: the new virtual instruments from Air Music Tech and Akai Pro are incredible recreations of iconic synthesizers, combined with the modern touch of Air Music Tech’s effects!

These synth plugins are derived from the Fabric engine and capture the DNA of original vintage instruments with character and personality. The oscillators and filters are based on the Fabric engine.

They feature expanded polyphony compared to original-era hardware synths, with up to four oscillators/layers per patch, and are designed for modern composers and producers. A diverse arpeggiator with multiple modes offers creative flexibility, and full MPE compatibility ensures expressive performance.

Each oscillator set includes extensive waveform selections, while deep factory preset libraries cover a wide range of applications. The engine also incorporates features and effects borrowed from Fabric, Sprite, and Flavor Pro.

A big thank you to YoungDreadz for his performance on this track, and to Simon Jodoin for recording this beautiful DW Timeless Timber drum kit!

We had a real blast jamming and experimenting with the presets and modules! Every click felt like its own unique experience, and the plugin’s smooth workflow makes it even more enjoyable. Can’t wait to produce more music with the Fabric Vintage Synths!
