Formentera and Big Store 🤍

I’ve been coming to Formentera for over 20 years. Of course, places change — new cafés and restaurants open, others disappear — but I’m quite loyal. When I find somewhere where I feel the energy, where I can feel that the owners and the people working there genuinely want to make it special, I keep coming back.

And there is something so lovely about returning every year to a place where people know your name.

“Hello! Welcome back!”
“When did you arrive?”
“How long are you staying?”

A little chat, familiar faces… it becomes part of coming back to Formentera.

@bigstoreformentera is one of those places for me.

I don’t drink coffee, and I don’t drink alcohol, so I’m not exactly their ideal customer 😂 But I do occasionally have their croissant integral with cheese, sometimes with ham — absolutely delicious. Not exactly my usual healthy breakfast, so definitely not every day, but holidays are holidays.

And since I don’t come in the evening for cocktails either, what do I do?

I shop.

Every year I seem to leave Big Store with a sweatshirt or a few T-shirts. I love them. The quality, the simplicity, and especially what they represent to me.

Easy. Easygoing. Enjoying life. Nothing too complicated.

Actually, that’s exactly how Formentera feels to me.

So yes, I love Big Store. Love it, love it, love it.

And I really hope they keep going for many, many more years, staying that special little place not only for people like me who return to Formentera year after year, but equally for those lucky enough to call the island home. by @bigstoreformentera
