BIJI aren’t just making music—they’re building a new sonic mythology. From Stockholm to Sine, they’re fusing Kurdish heritage, hip-hop grit, and a visual language rooted in defiance.

Shot by Abdulhamid Kircher, this cover story captures BIJI at their most unfiltered—where raw storytelling meets relentless reinvention. A new vernacular for global rap, a sound long pushed to the periphery.

HOW THE KURDISH ”FARANJI” BECAME THE IDENTITY OF OUR ALBUM

Once we decided to name the album ”LEGENDS” we started researching & looking for ancient symbolism for the word in Kurdish. Our sister @deq.ttt helped brainstorm and said that a goat is the closest symbol for it. 🐐

We started researching more and realised that the goat keepers and shepherds in the Kurdish mountains wear a faranji to protect them from extreme weather. Farangiposh is also the name of my favourite song by the legendary @najmadin_ghulami 💛

S/O to our AD/CD/ADHD friend @e______m_______s for putting together and translating the essence and ID for the whole project.

More research in symbolism and how we can tie it together

Since we couldn’t get a OG faranji in Stockholm we had to be creative... @samantha.esfandiari created our own faranji in ONE DAY. What a goat

First irl reveal

We shot the artwork on the hottest day of the year… MUCH respect to all the shepherds wearing this all day everyday

Asked the OG goat aka Mehri Sharifi aka my mother to help write LEGENDS in Kurdish.

Since she helped write the whole album it would only make sense to use her actual handwriting for the album art too..
