A bicycle boulevard is a low speed, low traffic street that provides a calmer, safer and more comfortable environment for cyclists. This Sunday, August 30th, come with us as we go explore the ones we have in Long Beach!

We’ll meet at @gauchobeach (780 E Shoreline Dr.) at 9 a.m. and roll out at 9:30. We’ll ride about 12 miles on bike boulevards and calm streets, and end up back at Gaucho Beach to grab coffee, hang out and chat about what we saw on our ride.

Everyone is welcome, on any kind of bike. Bring a bike in good condition, helmet and a lock. See you there!

Please sign our ride waiver if you're planning on attending. Link to the waiver, route and more details in bio. by @bikelongbeach

Getting a flat sucks! But don't let a flat tire turn your ride into a walk. Join us for a Fix-A-Flat workshop and learn how to turn that "oh no" into "I got this!"

This workshop is designed to create a welcoming and supportive space for women to learn the basics of fixing a flat tire and better understand their bicycles.

This will be a hands on workshop, so bringing the bike you ride most often is highly encouraged.

This event is FREE and, while designed for women, is open to all members of the community who want to learn this valuable skill. It’ll be lead by Otama from @twowheels.onelove and hosted at the @long_beach_bike_co_op We’ll also have a raffle among all participants with prizes!

Date: Wednesday, July 22, 6 p.m to 8 p.m.
Location: Long Beach Bike Co-Op, 4 Atlantic Avenue Rear, Signal Hill, CA 90755

RSVP at the link in our bio. Space is limited. by @bikelongbeach

Once again, @CicLavia lands on the same day as our scheduled Bikes and Coffee ride, so we’re turning it into a feeder ride.

Join us this Sunday, June 28 on a ride from Long Beach to CicLAvia Leimert Park meets Expo Park. The meeting spot is Steelcraft (3768 Long Beach Blvd.), at 8:30 a.m. We’ll have time to hang out and grab some coffee before we take off at 9 a.m.

The ride there will start on the LA River and then zig-zag through bike lanes and quiet streets for 22 miles towards the Leimert Park hub. We’ll explore CicLAvia and then head back from the Expo Park hub, via the Slauson rail-to-rail path and what will eventually be the rail-to-river route, reaching Steelcraft after 21 miles.

If you rather not ride back, another option is taking Metro all the way back to Long Beach. The E line is easily reachable from the Expo Park hub. Keep in mind there is a World Cup game at SoFi stadium at noon, so the trains might be packed!

Everyone is welcome on any bike, but be mindful that this is a significantly longer adventure than our usual Bikes and Coffee rides so it’s not recommended for beginners. Bring a bike in good condition, a helmet, and a lock. See you there!

Please sign our ride waiver if you're planning on attending. Link to the waiver, route and more details in bio. by @bikelongbeach

Last year we rode to the City of Bell Open Streets and we had an absolute blast. Let’s do it again! This time, the event is expanding to cover Maywood, Bell Gardens, and Cudahy too, as @selaopenstreets, so it’s going to be even better.

Join us for a feeder ride on Saturday, June 20th. We’ll meet at 9am at Steelcraft, grab some coffee and breakfast, and then roll out at 9:30am. The ride is about 11 miles all on the LA River bike path, which should take us around an hour. That will give us a good 3+ hours there before we ride back to the start.

Everyone is welcome on any bike, but keep in mind this is a longer adventure than our usual Bikes and Coffee rides. Bring a bike in good condition, a helmet, and a lock. See you there!

Please sign our ride waiver if you're planning on attending. Links to the waiver and more details in bio. by @bikelongbeach

Did you know that El Dorado park is home to a Nature Center that provides sanctuary for animals and plant life across 105 acres? And did you know that while cars have to pay an entrance fee, it’s free for bikes and pedestrians? Join us on Sunday, May 31st, as we wrap up Bike Month by riding to this oasis of natural habitat within Long Beach.

We’ll meet at the Recreation Park playground (find the dinosaur) on Federation Dr. right off of 7th street, and from there we’ll set out on a 13 mile round trip to El Dorado park. Once there we’ll visit the Nature Center, and perhaps some of the many other things the park has to offer. There’s 4 miles of bike paths, an archery range, a duck pond, lakes, baseball and tennis courts, a skate park and even a small theme park with a train!

On our way back we’ll stop to grab some coffee and snacks, of course, and we’ll finish the ride at the starting point.

This is a casual pace ride, and everyone is welcome, on any kind of bike. Come meet and hang out with fellow bike people. Bring a bike in good condition, helmet and a lock. See you there!

This month, @ciclavia is happening on the same day as our scheduled Bikes and Coffee, so we’ll turn it into a multi-modal feeder ride to West LA. Join us on Sunday April 26, as we bicycle and ride @metrolosangeles to the biggest outdoor party in LA!

We’ll meet at SteelCraft a bit earlier than usual and bike 1 mile to the Wardlow station to take the A Line. We’ll get off at Slauson station and head towards West LA on the Rail to Rail bike path, through West Adams and the Expo Bike path, riding about 16 miles. And if you don’t want to ride the whole way, you could catch a train again about 8 miles in.

After enjoying CicLAvia (and finding some coffee!), we’ll regroup and go catch Metro back to Long Beach. It’s only a few blocks to the closest station.

Everyone is welcome on any bike, but keep in mind this is a longer adventure than our usual Bikes and Coffee rides. Bring a bike in good condition, a helmet, water/snacks and your TAP card – or money to buy one at Wardlow. See you there!

Please, if you haven’t done so yet, sign our ride waiver if you’re planning on attending. Link to the waiver, route and more details in bio. by @bikelongbeach
