Another great ride out this morning to @two_flags_cafe_a47 roads were great (minus the pot holes)

We might be lucky and get a few more in before the season rounds up for #2026. You never know more people might actually decide to come out on the next one😂👍🏻

What a ride this morning……

With a tank of fuel done I can safely say that the 2CT’s are scrubbed in…….

Another oil and filter change done, no metal pick up on the magnet. Happy days…..

Smoked over 100miles today. With a cheeky bike swap halfway🤘🏻😎

Both 09 are brilliant, have some similarity’s but are also different. It was great to see and feel the difference between the two.

Power is pretty much the same but the gen1 feels more aggressive on the delivery, gen4 is very smooth then gets a serge of power mid range.

Gen4 handles like a dream, ohlins helps this but it does feel planted mid corner and very stable on entry and exit.

Gen 1 lacks in these areas. There’s a bit more movement in the bike on entry and exit ( which I don’t mind) and mid corner doesn’t feel as planted as the gen4.

Brakes are mustard on the gen 4 really really good. I’ve upgraded the gen1 with a gen3 master cylinder and pads which brings them a lot closer to the gen4.

Oh the quickshifter and auto blipper on the gen4 is out of this world. Super smooth up and down, you can change gear effortlessly.

I’ve got a translogic quick shifter on the gen1 and it’s pretty good. Not a good as the gen4 version😎😎👍🏻

Both great bikes I’d have either. Well happy with my gen1 as you can tell from the mileage I’ve racked up on it. All of the mt09 are brilliant bikes, makes me think of getting one as a track bike now…..🤔🤔😂

Head stock bearings were biting on the MT09. So needed to be changed.

Thought I’d changed them at 24k miles but I didn’t these were the original’s 55,045 miles on them😂😂

Defo needed changing. Not overall hard to do just time consuming as the whole front end has to come off.

Also found the L/H bar raiser had come a little loose, and other fix done aswell as cleaned checked brake calipers, discs, forks, and all electrical connections.

Ready to go back together tomorrow when the steering stem has spent the night in the freezer.🤘🏻🤘🏻

Ride out to 2 Flags Cafe today….

Mega ride there and back, hit some awesome roads and beat most of the traffic.

Food was great, service was very quick considering how busy it was…..👍🏻

Can’t wait to do this run again…..
