A little almost cinematic style video for you guys from my recent trip to Makkah. I thank and praise Allah for the opportunity, invitation and ability. And I ask that He allows us all to return to maximise our ibaadah in the most holy of places. This trip was also an opportunity to test out the iPhone 17 Pro and I can’t say I’m disappointed. The camera packs a punch and in places like this, it makes so much more sense to shoot on the phone than it does on a camera or Osmo Pocket. In the name of Allah, The Most Merciful and The Most Beneficent. It is with immense joy and excitement that I announce the release of my first ever documentary, a video format I have been procrastinating about for many years. However this opportunity was the perfect one to begin my journey in documentary filming. In September 2025, an anonymous brother wished to sponsor Ibrahimo’s Umrah, after having heard his story. By Allah’s will and permission, he joined our trip with @hajjandumraexpress and we decided it was going to be documented, for the purpose of showcasing to the world, the impact Umrah can have on someone, and that this initiative, should take place as often as Allah wills it so. Ibrahimo is my maternal uncle, and he is one of many brothers and sisters that we plan to take on the sacred journey of Umrah. This initiative is just at its beginning and we want to impact more lives, but we can’t do it alone. Life isn’t fair to us, and growing up I could never tolerate injustice, so I’d never accept that life wasn’t fair. I’d vocalise my thoughts, act on it, try and manage the situation to be just and fair. That is until Allah showed me, and shows us, and makes us understand that justice isn’t always in our control. And ultimately we, are not in control. Allah is. Life isn’t fair, and we can’t control otherwise. This life is a test, and the next is better for us. Justice belongs to Allah, ٱلْعَدْلُ (Al Adl - The Utterly Just) and it is in His justice that I rely upon. Allah is ٱلْحَكَمُ (Al Hakm - The Impartial Judge) and I trust His judgement. Allah is ٱلْمُقْسِطُ (Al Muqsit - The Establisher of Equity) and He will return the rights of those who have been wronged, and bring justice. I’ve learned to leave it with Allah, as He is the trustee of my affairs. And knowing that Allah is on my side, I find peace in the struggle. He will defend me, avenge me, and return my rights to me. Allah raised the rank of Musa, despite growing up with no parents. Allah raised the rank of Yusuf, despite being separated from his father. Allah raised the rank of Ya’kub, despite being separated from his child. Allah raised the rank of Muhammad, despite losing his sons. Allah raised the rank of Ayuub, despite losing his wealth and family. They were never fair situations on paper, but Allah’s plan meant they were destined for better, and elevated their rank as a result of the struggle and patience.And He will raise yours too, in any struggle you endure. Can I have your attention? Got it? Amazing! I can’t emphasise how important this project is for me. THE BIGGEST project I have ever undertaken, with lots of time, effort and preparation involved. Collating all the skills I have learned throughout the years into one documentary that mirrors the work I try to represent. Here’s some context! Alhamdulillah, the majority of you know I do work for @hajjandumraexpress and we had launched an initiative called The Sacred Gift - Taking people who are struggling financially or through personal struggles, on the sacred trip to perform Umrah. During the process, someone anonymous donated an entire umrah for my uncle, after hearing his story. His first Umrah in his 43 years of life! SubhanAllah! In September 2025, I joined my uncle Ibrahim in performing his first ever Umrah and made it a mission to document his story and his journey for the world to see how Umrah, how generosity, how brotherhood can make a positive impact in ones life.
