When I started Wecyclers, people told me waste in Lagos was “just how it is.” Too big. Too messy. Not worth it.

That’s exactly why I chose it.

The problems everyone calls impossible are usually the ones nobody has stayed with long enough. They’re not empty because they can’t be solved. They’re empty because they’re uncomfortable.

So pick the hard one. Pick the one that makes people laugh when you say it out loud. Then show up every day until it stops being funny.

Be comfortable being uncomfortable. Build Anyway. 💚

Your attitude won’t make the hard thing easy. It will make you the kind of person who gets through it.

So when it gets tough, lift your head, find the lesson, and keep moving.

October walking challenge has been so worthwhile. Very challenging but so much fun. by @bilikiss

That thing keeping you up at night? In two years, you probably won’t even remember its name.

Not because it doesn’t matter now. It does. But it won’t define you. How you showed up for it will.

So feel it. Handle it. Keep moving.

They called Wecyclers a crazy idea. Some days it felt like they were right. 🚲♻️

Trucks broke down. Funding dried up. Doors stayed shut. More than once I sat with the question every builder knows: Is this the day I stop?

I didn’t. Not because it got easier, but because I decided quitting wasn’t on the table.

Success isn’t for the most talented or the best connected. It’s for the ones still standing when everyone else has gone home.

If you’re in the hard part right now, stay in it. The breakthrough usually comes right after the moment you most wanted to walk away.

What’s the one thing you refuse to give up on? Tell me below 👇🏾

Next time it all feels like too much: pause, breathe, respond — don’t react. The moment you let emotion take the wheel, you hand your power to the problem. Calm is a decision, and it’s one you get to make every single time.

I’ve learned this in boardrooms, on landfills, and under a barbell. Pressure doesn’t get lighter. You get steadier.

1️⃣ Decide what you’re going to say. Get clear on your message before you worry about anything else.
2️⃣ Practice. Out loud, more than once. Your mouth needs the rehearsal, not just your head.
3️⃣ Get on the stage before your speech. Stand where you’ll stand, look out at the room. Make the space familiar so it doesn’t feel foreign when it counts.
4️⃣ Don’t worry if you don’t have everyone’s attention. Some people will be on their phones. Speak to the ones who are listening and they’ll carry the room for you.

You don’t have to feel ready. You just have to start.

Be comfortable being uncomfortable. Build Anyway. 💚
