If there’s one thing better than chasing carp on the fly, it’s doing it with a great group of people.

Schmoots Clooper is one of those weekends we look forward to every year. Catching up with old friends, meeting new ones, and spending time with a community that’s just as obsessed with carp as we are never gets old.

Thanks to everyone who shared some water, a conversation, or a laugh with us. House of Fly is always proud to be part of it. Until next year. 🎣 taken in Banks Lake, WA by @bill.marts

Finished except for some touch ups in the knife handle. I feel pretty good about it, by @bill.marts

I decided to make a wood handle for this knife. The scales (wood) is ebony. I think it will complement the blade perfectly. I’ll post it when it is finished. by @bill.marts

This is my newest knife attempt. I took a class at Lawless Forge in Seattle. I can’t say enough for them. I’d recommend this class (or one of the others they offer) for anyone looking for something completely different. This knife was made using a forge and a horseshoe. I’m now making the sheath and trying to decide if it should have a wood handle. by @bill.marts

8th Annual Schmoots Clooper Invitational is in the net. Tough fishing but great fun meeting new friends and reuniting with old. I want to thank all anglers who participated and all of the sponsors who so generously contributed prizes. Everyone gets a prize whether they catch anything or not.
Already looking forward to next year. Photo by Sly by @bill.marts
