October seems as good a time as any to post about the first show I went to in January this year 🙃 @crowquillhc are sick though, listen to them taken in The Lubber Fiend by @billargh

Maybe one year, there'll be a year where Chat Pile releases an album and it won't be the most harrowing thing I've ever listened to. 2026 once again isn't that year. It's strange, Who Loves The Sun is basically just more Chat Pile but is also so much more at the same time. It's Chat Pile music, lyrics, themes, yet they're still pumping out new and fresh material, nothing feels like a retread of previous work. I've never been so happy to be listening to something so miserable.

Guess I'll finally post my silly little pictures of my last show of last year, the always amazing Everything Everything @e_e_ performing one of, if not the greatest albums ever, Get To Heaven for its 10th anniversary. Do you ever feel like a fat child, in a pushchair?

Is it weird to call this Stray's most "pop" album? As silly as that might sound given how heavy it is, but I mean, in terms of song structure, following predictable (not derogatory) patterns and having lyrics that are easy to follow and scream back at a show. Honestly I think it's the perfect swansong, and translated ridiculously well in a live environment. We'll miss 'em and I'll forever be bummed at only getting to hear these tracks live the once.

Had a nice little night back in November pretending it's 2005 again, I'm 15 and I'm listening to some old school metalcore on repeat. 20th anniversary tour for Of Love and Lunacy by the lovely @stillremains and a nice surprise (it wasn't a surprise, I was just oblivious to them supporting) seeing @dshs_official on the bill

At long last, after being teased for years, we finally(!) get a Suck Out The Poison pressing! Crazy to think this is now 20 years old, even more crazy to think that people kicked off at HIL for "going soft" when tracks like China White II exist lol. I know bands of this era loved the dark imagery and themes, but this one takes the biscuit (and I love it for it)
