I've got to give Mike Flannagan credit for taking something as basic as #Carrie and turning it into complete and utter dogsh*t. How on earth can you manage to screw up the iconic prom? He found a way. How do you completely destroy the whole concept of the story? He found a way. Avoid wasting 8 hours of your life. You're welcome. by @billbenevides007

Upon sadly discovering my #Hitchcock DVD collection wasn't upscaling the aspect ratio properly on the 4k player decided it was time to upgrade. The Ultimate Collection Blu-ray is awesome, comes with a beautiful book and found it for an amazing low price. It's wild experiencing these great films in remastered glory! taken in Taunton, Massachusetts by @billbenevides007

What can I say? From the first time I saw @arlanyerby in my friend Cayman Cardiff's That Missing Rockstar stealing every scene he was in I knew this guy was in need of a leading role. He proved his romantic lead ability in the amazing @officialdylanvox @scottymullen drama #LoveIntheRuck and now Arlan & Dylan reteam for what has been my most anticipated vertical this year. #EchoProtocol is a phenomenal sci/fi action thriller that defies expectations of the microdrama format. This series looks beautiful. The action scenes are exciting and well done. The story is engaging and well paced. And the cast rocks! As for Arlan... just WOW! Add badass action hero to his resume! This man needs more leading roles STAT! I don't usually review or rate vertical dramas but this one deserves it! An enthusiastic 10/10.
Both Echo Protocol and Love In the Ruck are available on the @my_drama_series app. Check them out! by @billbenevides007

While on the subject of year's best horror... these gems arrived while I was away! @passengermovie and @pitfallmovie both rocked the suspense, terror, endearing strong characters and engaging storytelling. Fingers crossed at some point #Pitfall gets a Blu-ray release! #greathorrorfilms taken in Taunton, Massachusetts by @billbenevides007

Home and settled in so finally the review! As I teased, SEE IT if you can! @dontmovethemovie is seriously a contender for my favorite horror film of 2026. First, let's remove any thoughts of bias because I saw the film at a Q&A Event screening. We saw the film before meeting the filmmakers. Not so much a horror/comedy but rather a suspenseful creature feature survival thriller with some very humorous characters. The feel of this film is very old school and it's just beautifully shot with great techniques and effects. Director @maclainnelson and writer @therealmurr put a lot of greatness into what could simply be dismissed as Jaws, Grizzly etc with a big ass spider. The spider (like the shark in Jaws) is very effective because it's never fully seen until the tense final act. But the teases along the way are creepy and unnerving. The plot is simple. Lyndsy Fonseca is dealing with the trauma of a truly horrific opening scene and is persuaded by her pastor (a very entertaining Tom Cavanaugh) to join their church group camping trip, joined by some truly fun and mostly endearing characters played effortlessly by Hunter King, Rob Riggle, Joseph Lee Anderson and film debut of rapper Russ (who delivers one of the best characters in the film). Of course they are venturing deep into the woods where there's a dark legend, a wrong turn and they end up lost in the territory of one scary predator. Plenty of scares and intense confrontations. Resourceful characters that don't just cower, scream and die. And like my other other two contenders for best horror, Pitfall and Passenger this film delivers engaging characters that you care if they survive rather than just plodding along waiting for the next kill. I was shocked to later learn that the creature was not a practical effect because it is cringeworthy realistic looking and the last act is nightmare fuel for arachnophobes or pretty much anyone else that appreciates creature horror. And let's not mention a certain scene that had me squirming in my seat. I can't praise this movie enough for taking me on a terrifying ride! 10/10 by @billbenevides007
