Proofsheet with Bill Evans images by photographer Donald Silverstein for the cover of "Sunday at the Village Vanguard"
He was born on 4 July 1934 in New York. His mother gave him a Rolleiflex camera for his 12th birthday, and thus ignited a passion that later took him to London, Paris and around the world as one of the most sought after photographers of his day. After four years in Europe he returned to New York where he began taking photographs for record covers, quickly establishing a name for himself in the music industry. During this period Silverstein captured numerous musicians, primarily for Riverside Records, including Junior Mance, Bill Evans, Ida Cox and Cannonball Adderley, Johnny Griffin, Barry Harris, Cliff Jackson, Fairport Convention, Sonny Rollins and Eddie "Lockjaw" Davis. Silverstein remained in London, working as a photographer until his untimely death in 1975.

Today from Maxine:
"❤️ My dad bought me an autograph book when he was on the Mike Douglas Show so I could get autographs. He was the first to sign it. He passed away in 1980." #fathersday

Bill Evans at the Montreux Jazz Festival (Verve V6-8762)

(Jack DeJohnette 離開後就跑去跟 Miles Davis 玩 Fusion~) #BillEvans #EddieGomez #JackDeJohnette #MontreuxJazzFestival #RecordofDay #Jazz #jazzvinyl #vinyl #vinyloftheday #vinyljunkie #jazzphotography #jazzfestival #piano #JazzPiano #drums #bass #jazzdrums #jazzbass #billevansmusic #billevansgroup #billevanstrio #JazzTrio by @billevansestate

Bill Evans son Evan Evans, #FilmComposer 🎶 repost from @evanevansmusic - Holding up my dad's, #BillEvans, new album "Some Other Time" which just hit #1 on the #BillBoard Charts for #Jazz, outselling #FrankSinatra and #MilesDavis. Here I am with label founder #GeorgeKlabin (left) and a man they call the #IndianaJones of #Jazz for unearthing rare never-before-released recordings, Producer #ZevFeldman (right).
