Standing watch over the waters, the iconic Banjo Pier casts its beam into the night. ✨

Built in the late 19th century in Looe, Cornwall, this unique pier got its name from its distinctive shape—like a banjo’s neck extending into the sea. It’s not just a picturesque spot; it was designed to help guide boats safely through the river mouth, a vital feature for this historic fishing town.

Now, under the night sky, it’s a beacon of calm against the endless horizon.

Wooden steps by day, a pathway to the stars by night. 🌌

This spot in Cornwall is a reminder of how magical the night sky can be when the world slows down and the light fades. With low light pollution and crisp winter air, the stars come out in full force, turning familiar trails into something otherworldly.

Perfect nights like this are rare, but when they happen, they make you stop, look up, and feel small in the best way possible.

Forgotten steps, claimed by the tides. 🌊

These old concrete stairs on Looe’s Second Beach are a quiet reminder of how nature always finds its way. Once part of the coastal path, they’ve been shaped and shifted by years of waves, storms, and time.

Captured under soft, clouded skies with the glow of distant lights on the horizon, they now rest as a marker of where human effort fades, and nature takes over.

🌕 A Night at Tintagel 🌌

Beneath the radiant glow of the full moon, Tintagel comes alive with an otherworldly magic. This iconic Cornish location, perched dramatically on rugged cliffs, is steeped in history and legend. Known as the birthplace of King Arthur in Arthurian lore, Tintagel Castle has inspired countless tales of knights, quests, and mystical encounters.

By day, it stands as a testament to medieval ingenuity and Cornish heritage. By night, under the cosmos' embrace, it transforms into a realm of timeless wonder. The moonlight softens the ancient stone, illuminating the pathways that wind through its wild, untamed beauty.

✨ Did You Know?

Tintagel's history dates back to the Roman era, but it became famous in the 12th century when Geoffrey of Monmouth linked it to Arthurian legends.

The iconic footbridge, seen in this shot, was completed in 2019, connecting two parts of the castle split by erosion over centuries.
This shot captures not just a place, but a story—a bridge between past and present, earth and sky, reality and myth.

Would you explore Tintagel at night? Let me know your favourite myth or memory tied to this magical site! 🌌🏰

Rising like ancient sentinels from the sands of Portnadler Beach, these towering rocks are a testament to the untamed beauty of Cornwall’s coastline. Shaped by centuries of wind, waves, and weather, their jagged forms stand watch over the ebb and flow of the tides, embodying the raw resilience of nature.

Portnadler Beach, tucked away from the usual paths, is a place of peaceful isolation—a haven where time slows and the sea’s whispers fill the air. In the glow of sunset, these weathered guardians come alive, their textures illuminated by the shifting golden light. Each detail feels like a page in an ancient story written by the elements.

Moments like this remind me of the quiet magic of Cornwall’s hidden gems. Photographing this scene felt like capturing not just a place, but a sense of timeless wonder. 🌊✨

Ancient stone circles in Cornwall offer a fascinating glimpse into the region's history, dating back thousands of years. Their true purpose remains mysterious, but sites like Men An Tol—often referred to as the healing stone—likely served as places for rituals and communal gatherings.

Photographing these stones reveals their timeless allure amid the enchanting Cornish light.

Has anyone else been here? It blows my mind!

Perched on the windswept Lizard Peninsula, Goonhilly Earth Station is a cornerstone of global communications history. Its most iconic dish, Arthur, was instrumental in broadcasting the first-ever live transatlantic television signal in 1962 via the Telstar satellite. At the time, this technological leap shrank the world, bringing events from across the Atlantic into living rooms in Europe for the first time.

Beyond its historical achievements, Goonhilly is still breaking boundaries. The site is now repurposed for space science and exploration, with ambitious plans to support lunar missions and deep space communications. From a communications marvel to a key player in the space age, Goonhilly continues to evolve and inspire.

It’s hard not to feel the weight of history—and the potential of the future—when standing here under the stars. 🌌✨

There’s something magical about those quiet nights, when the sky kisses the sea. I found these really interesting rock formations on the second beach in Looe and the eery colour tones make it look like an alien landscape.

You can’t help but get lost in the beauty of it all— That's why I love living here in Cornwall. Every moment feels like a little adventure, where you don't know what's around the corner!

It's been too long since I last shared my work, and I'm thrilled to dive back in with stunning images of Cornwall in all its beauty!

To kick things off, here's a captivating shot from my hometown of Looe. The red marker stands out against the coastal rocks, with the misty lights of Seaton and Downderry shimmering in the distance.

Looe is simply magical at night! 🌌
