When Trail Blazing was life 🚶‍♂️ 🐷

Pure bliss…nostalgia…youthful freedom

Lost so much photos and videos over the years but glad I got to hold on to a few memorable moments. Posting this before I lose the the rest of my photos and vids.

the Adventures definitely outweighed all the bs - too much beauty in the wild.

Rare plants and sacred sites, too much to count

This is where the real learning was - aina educated.

One door closes - another one opens

2025 finally to a close. Mahalo for all the lessons, love and life! Everyday I’m reminded of the things, people and places I’m grateful for. Hard work, perseverance, dedication…so much goes into what it takes to be a black belt. The journey is a long path. Humility to strengthen the soul, humbleness to deflect the ego, honesty to sharpen the mind. Gustavo’s been a Ronin for too long. 14 year brown belt, clocked in a ton of mileage, fought and trained with some of the best martial arts fighters in the world, trained at some big name schools way back when. Already a hammer then, even more of a hammer now. Today, I was honored to bless my good friend / training partner and Co-Owner of @higroundcollective with an official @cascaojiujitsu black belt. A special moment I will always cherish with Walter and Gustavo both. So grateful to do the things I love to do and express myself so freely. Nearly 15 years deep into the game and I’m still learning so much - but the core principles will always be the same; understanding self-control, having sincere empathy for my training partner(s), and having the willingness to be open minded to both new and old possibilities. The grind never stops..eventually we’ll all slow down and give up mount.
