Such a special NYC night. ❤️🎶

I studied classical piano from a young age, so this brought me right back to where my love of music began.

So exciting to welcome Gustavo Dudamel for his first performance with the NY Phil as he begins his tenure here — John Adams’ On the Transmigration of Souls was deeply moving, made even more special with Adams himself in the audience, and Dudamel absolutely nailed the Prokofiev!

Full circle being with the Segerstrom family and Brent Taravella after performing at Segerstrom Hall with Linda Eder many times over the years — then across the street for a preview of Daniel Boulud’s new brasserie before its opening tonight, with the NYC Youth Chorus, toasts and speeches welcoming Gustavo to New York.

As a musician, nights like this are why I love New York — the music, the people, the energy. So grateful to be part of it. ❤️🎶🗽 taken in Lincoln Center by @billyjaystein

Rush’s Moving Pictures was one of the defining albums of my formative years.

Back in 1986, a few friends and I tried to see Rush at Madison Square Garden with what turned out to be fake scalped tickets. Somehow… we still got in. 😄 To this day, none of us really remembers how.

Forty years later, we came back—this time with actual seats. What an incredible show. These guys can still really play.

A few years ago, I had the chance to dive deep into Rush on a podcast with @scottinterrante, talking about one of my favorite Rush songs. If you’re a fan, check it out:
