What happens when the adventure you love might be your last?

Billy follows a 70-year-old grandfather as he confronts the fears, desires and uncertainties that come with ski touring later in life.

Set against the mountains, the film explores the internal conflict between the desire to keep pushing into the wilderness and the growing awareness of mortality and the passing of time.

Blending adventure with black humour, compassion and emotional sensitivity, Billy takes an unconventional approach to documentary filmmaking, drawing audiences into the protagonist's internal world as he confronts the possibility that this could be his final adventure.

Directed by Pablo Damián Schiel, Billy is a deeply personal exploration of adventure, ageing, fear and the desire to keep living life on your own terms.

Billy is part of the Holmlands Adventure Film Festival 2026 Official Selection and is now available to watch as a virtual screening through our ticketed online Festival Player.
