Ordered a 70’s Tribute for my Les Paul Signature Player Plus. @iamcharlottel has a Lzzybird, those come with these pickups and that guitar sounded INCREDIBLE when she played it through my @engl_amplification Powerball II. That convinced me to get one of those pickups. There was a time when I disliked Gibson pickups and always pulled them out of my Gibsons when I bought one. Never in a million years would I have even thought of buying a Gibson pickup, but here we are. I wanna use this guitar more. Switching out to passive pickups will let me use it for more things, especially Made N America.

How do you guys feel about changing the hardware to gold? I have a 57 Classic with a gold cover I wanna put in the neck. I think gold and this finish would complement each other. Or should I pop the cover off and go double blacks with the current hardware? by @billysablan

#flametopfriday

Hi. I’ve been quiet on this account. The summer has been slow for live shows. But I do have things going on. This downtime has given me the time to write. And I’m happy with how that is coming along. More details in the not too distant future.

This guitar has been in my hands most of the afternoon. It’s a 2022 Standard 50’s. I’m feeling very connected to it today. The feel, the resonance, the contrast in tones going back & forth between the super hot @motorcitypickups Solution in the bridge to the stock Burstbucker in the neck, the horizontal mineral streaks on the top that give it a unique look…I’m in love with this guitar. Will it make it on to the upcoming record? Most likely. The song demos with this on one side and my 79 Custom on the other side sound bad-ass!

Happy Friday! by @billysablan
