Friday 8/7 Iwai-san from Noguchi Naohiko is coming to NYC! Two events:

5pm-8pm: Free tasting at @bin.bin.sake and a opportunity to buy Noguchi sake at retail - only one of the five approved stores in NYC, so super rare!

9pm-11pm: come meet Iwai-san at @sakebarasoko where there will be special glass pours and flights, along with some special bottles that aren’t yet imported to the US!

it’s fun! This is my favorite brewery because they put up with me for a week each year brewing. Sake that doesn’t taste like any other beverage in the world -jm

Komai-san is in NYC this week, he showed me how fun his city is - street side stalls, crazy seafood, and outgoing people. The sake he brews matches it.

Two events on 5/28 -

5-8pm at @bin.bin.sake - free tasting plus bottles at retail
9pm-11pm at @sakebarasoko - glass specials and bonus bottles

Meet Komai-san at either, have a glass or five, talk sake or just drink. I’ll be at both, and I promise I won’t just hide in the dish pit.

Been a long time in the works, but we have special events with Noguchi Naohiko Sake this week!

I met @iwaitakas a few years ago when I first joined @mtcsake, and we’ve worked closely together over the years - last season I was lucky enough to be invited to make koji with him and Mr. Noguchi in Ishikawa. While I was only able to stay a few days, the team there embraced me with open arms and I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be able to get hands on with the process. It gave me such a profound respect for both koji making and the work it takes to do it consistently over a season.

Noguchi-san is 93 and doesn’t travel much, but we are so happy to have Iwai-san, the director of the brewery and head of koji making to be visiting the city this week. Four events are happening - and while most are sold out, there are a few tickets left to the @thirdsbk / @bin.bin.sake event tomorrow 8/5, and then later that night we’ll be hosting a free party at @sakebarasoko (free tastes, free party, special bottles available btg).

If you’re around, we’d love to see you. If not, that’s ok we still love you.
