#Blaeberryblast #equinoxbikefest @tourismgolden probably my last long ride of the season, hopefully I can squeeze in 3 or 4 shorter rides before the white stuff arrives. Really enjoyed this chill event over in Golden BC and the weather didn’t disappoint, a golden day for a Golden Gravel Grind. Started chilly but soon got warm with some steady climbing, 1800m in total over 90km. The course had epic mountain views in most directions, rugged logging roads, challenging and very challenging uphill sections and then we were treated to some fun single track to finish.
Still amazed at how my @canyon Grail holds up to some of this torture and even more surprised I escaped another gravel grind puncture free - maybe I just got lucky… I’ll take it.
Happy to say no foot pain (yippee!) and no leg cramps (double yippee!) making for an even more enjoyable ride. by @bingo__smith

Long September weekend in Cranbrook. Impromptu camp and gravel grind, got super lucky with the weather considering the forecast. I hadn’t done this event for a few years but fully enjoyed a slightly quicker route and it had all the trademarks of a super fun gravel course. I still zonked around 80km but hey that’s my style 😂 note to self : stop, eat and drink at 80km.
An older guy had a heart attack a few Kms in - an amazing community of riders and organizers got around to help him, hopefully he’s doing ok. A scary moment that highlighted why we have to do these things whilst we still can - gotta keep moving! This weekend we’re off to Golden for a season finale, looks like being a mighty fine 24C and sunny - just how I like it! #cranbrookgravelgrind @anythinggoeseventseries @explore.britishcolumbia #gravelbikes #gravelgrinding #outdoors #adventure by @bingo__smith

Balmy summer evenings are the best! … I remember the first time I ever heard this song by Massive Attack, it was a balmy summer evening whilst at art college and I was getting my shoulder length hair buzzed off by a mate who used to be a hairdresser - what a feeling! Snippets from Mexico City. Like so many shameful elements of the 2026 World Cup it was an absolute sham that the Estadio Azteca didn’t get any games beyond the last 16. A welcoming, humble city that was football and World Cup ready. The atmosphere was rocking! Great people, amazing food markets, tacos galore with intimate neighbourhoods made for safe travel … and the metro was 50C to anywhere in the city, priced for the people! I was welcomed even in my England shirt when there wasn’t another England shirt in sight and the locals were so gracious in defeat … and then the party started! taken in Mexico City by @bingo__smith

@okanagangraveller - definitely struggled on this one. I haven’t been consistently getting the Kms in my legs so the 15km climb to start this ride nailed my legs, the 950m of elevation was brutal. Glad to get to finish line 90km later, over mostly unserviced forestry roads, the hands are still shaking. A great road trip through Golden and Revelstoke and such a beautiful part of the country to visit. #lakecountrybc #gravelbike #cycling #outdoors #adventure taken in Oyama, British Columbia by @bingo__smith

Couple of cheeky rides this week in some pretty favourable conditions (ignoring the 75km head wind on Thursday).
