Happy to be releasing the debut record from @itsadamhopper & the Wimps today!

Here’s a photo of Adam and the Sheffield sunrise, with the record. I edited out his toes. Here’s some more pictures of the band from when it was being made in @deliciousclamstagram, and a photo of the record looking like it means business in an office chair.

This has been a fun one to make. It was all in house - Zac and Lloyd were there during the recording in the Clam, with Zac manning the buttons and Lloyd pissing about with a tape echo thing. Ben’s done all the artwork for the record, and Adam and Lloyd made a zine that comes with it.

It’s a lovely record with plenty of classic songwriting on show. Great arrangements from the band and lyrics that are open and full of stories. One to consume as a whole rather than fragmented via streaming algorithms, if you can.

At the top of the week the debut album by @itsadamhopper come out. Here’s a photo of the day it was made, without Adam in it. Presumably this was shot midway, during a pause when guitarist John (centre left) forced things to a halt for some demanding fried-potatoes-related reason. Hello everyone, we have another single from the forthcoming debut album by @itsadamhopper, out today. It’s called You Knock Me Down (But in a Good Way).

It’s another piece of excellent, jangly songwriting from Adam from an album packed with that kind of thing. It was good fun recording it at Clam in Sheffield over the winter, as spring crept up on us. It’s a fully-wrapped DIY in-house job with @zacbarfoot on the controls and @hello.mr.ben doing the artwork.

The album is out on the 25th of this month and you can pre-order it over on our bandcamp. There’s also a tour:

Today the album ‘Smart Moves’ by Clever Boys is out in the world.

A full film - well, more of a screensaver - is on Youtube, which lasts the album’s length. It’s also on Bandcamp, and the rest.

This has been an attempt to make something rhythmic. Each day we would turn up with nothing and write and record a song from scratch and go home when it was done. This was done ten times.

Oh, also, the lyrics tie in to a script that you get with the album as well. Not sure why, just felt like it. taken in Smart Moves by @bingorecs

The first single from the @itsadamhopper debut album is now out. You can listen to ‘Another Story About Nothing’ now, and preorder the record also.

Chuffed to be releasing this one. It’s nice to keep young Adam & co busy or else they start doing things like going to social clubs to check the grass, as evidenced above.

Bingo Records is nine years old today. Apparently nine years is your pottery anniversary but Ben won’t let us celebrate because he says pottery is his thing and he pretty much invented it so back off. No party then. Carry on as you were! taken in Cloud Nine by @bingorecs

Some of us have made an album. It’s called ‘Smart Moves’ by Clever Boys. You can listen to one of the songs now. It’s called ‘Pay’.

Everything can be found on Bandcamp, YouTube, Subvert, and all the usual intangible content spouts.

Wanted to make something funky. Wanted to do so wearing sunglasses and leather no matter the weather. Had a daft and fun time playing loads of instruments we’d never touched before. Hope you can tolerate it!

Shortly, we’ll let another couple of songs out. Then, after a bit, the full thing’ll be released with an album-long video we made. taken in Clever Sport Place by @bingorecs

Hello everybody. This year we’re joining up with @seekoutfestival to put on some stuff at their wonderful festival, back up in Lancashire from whence we came. Seek Out’s a class festival run by some good pals of ours in Gisburn Forest. Big Shapes by Good News is out today. Fans of taking things literally will be happy: the songs are expanded in pretty much every sense. More instruments, more people, more minutes.

Really like this one. Very much down the dance punk / post disco alley. If you like acronyms like ESG or ACR, or contradictions like Was Not Was or Disco Not Disco you’ll like it, I reckon.

Cheers to all involved! Order the record now if you want it. Otherwise listen to it intangibly wherever you like.

New record Big Shapes by @good.news._ is out on Friday. Vinyl is present and correct. Yesterday I injured my arms trying to carry all the preorders to the post office in one go because I am feeble. I thought I didn’t need my trolley; I did need my trolley.

Still some to order from Bandcamp, after that you’ll have to brave the merch desk. by @bingorecs

Another one from @firstprize.band is out today to complete the jangly pair! This one is Wasted on Me. Out everywhere you might look. This one reminds me quite a bit of Felt, which was a key player alongside Thin Lizzy in soundtracking the 4 years Charlie and I spent living together with Mario. Appropriately, then, a bit of twin guitar melody action à la Scott Goram and Evil Robbo snuck in there too two minutes in. A melting pot, you might say. Enjoy! by @bingorecs
