The Goddess of the Forest is a magnificent representation of the natural beauty and cultural heritage of our province, embodying the spirit of the Sierra Madre, a sanctuary for diverse wildlife and a haven for rare plants. Inspired by the resilient sabutan plant found in the vast mountains of Aurora province, this goddess is crafted from sabutan fiber, coconut shell, and wooden beads. The use of sabutan fiber pays homage to the resourcefulness and adaptability of local communities, while the coconut shell elements add a touch of simplicity and connection to nature. The wooden beads in green, brown, and white not only reflect the colors of the Sierra Madre mountains but also symbolize the harmony between nature and humanity.

The goddess’s attire, with its elegant traje de mestiza style, pays tribute to Doña Aurora Aragon Quezon, the Mother of our province and a native of Baler, Aurora. The green and white colors of the costume evoke the natural beauty of the Sierra Madre mountains, while the intricate designs reflect the rich cultural heritage of the town.

The overall design embodies the spirit of the Sierra Madre, blending traditional materials with a deep connection to our land. The goddess exudes tranquility and balance, making her a captivating representation of the natural and cultural treasures of Aurora Province 🌿.
