Hear Ye, hear Ye!

It is that time of year again when your favorite girl around town has made another circle around the sun. I can't tell how grateful I am for all the beautiful "framily" I have in my life who continue to keep me lifted and are so supportive of all that I do.

Thank you so much for all of the amazing, beautiful birthday love and well wishes. Even throughte ebbs and flows, everyday is an opportunity for growth, gratitude and love and I feel lucky I get to share that with so many of you.

To my lovely Rhaskell, you are my light and I love you for truly loving us.

If y'all see me out here in the streets this weekend, be sure to buy me a drank. Or better yet, give me some money, lol.

Love you all.

Planted some heirloom tomatoes this season.

...look how beautiful they are.

...some kosher salt and cracked black pepper was perfection. Totally worth the 3 months of waiting for them to ripen. Nom nom! taken in At Peace by @binnski

The bi-weekly shakedown is real.

First it was Pokémon cards now it's Robux. I'm like, sir - let me show you another way.

He's learning how to earn for the things he wants (and add to his savings account). He's gotten really good at managing the yard and he helped start our little garden patch that's growing so beautifully - (that's a metaphor for another day).

Best of all, he does seem to enjoy a sense of accomplishment in doing.

Robux earned, my friend. 💲🤖

My son and I are strong out here in these Cub Scout streets!

Yesterday was our end of season awards banquet where we acknowledged all of our Scouts for their achievements throughout the year and celebrate their advancement in the program.

I was pleasantly surprised by my son taking home Leader of the Year award and winning a new bike! (Thank you @mo_betta_cycling_apparel_ for your generous donation)
I also received my own surprise promotion to Assistant Cubmaster⚜️

The scouting experience has been a wonderful platform for development of my son's personal principles, understanding personal accountability, honesty, purpose, self respect and respect for others.

He's learning that showing up matters. Presence matters. Choices matter. I'm thankful to be a model of that for him.

We are proud to be a part of Martin Luther King Jr's legacy Ebenezer Troop 213. If your family wants to join us, DM me to get in on all this awesomeness that we are creating for our kids.

I am so appreciative to @grammy_loves @shan1blaze for being my kiki partners. I promise I'll get my spades game up ❤️

@robbhaskell - Thank you for your love and support.

Also, did you know that my son is a Jr. Mini Master Birder? That's right, under the expert guidance of @parksnaturalisttasha with @dekalbparksrec, he's learned so much about birds and their habitats. He can identify birds by sight or just by hearing their song. It's really cool to experience his joy in those moments.

I absolutely love this activity for him because it allows him to slow down and be present- outside; something that he and I have come to enjoy for ourselves.

From the weekly trail excursions, "plirding"- the stewardship component of birding, exploring global bird cameras through @cornellbirds, regional birding competitions, and my new favorite - night birding, it's been such an enriching experience for him.

We've closed out for this season but I look forward to where the world of birding takes him when we start again in the fall. 🐦🦉🐦‍⬛

My kiddo and his fellow art crew from @amariosartacademy have been working very hard in studio but today they hung out with muralists @azizaandreart and @letsgopaint for a little lunch & learn. They also added some creative sprinkle to an upcoming project.
