The black, lace-like glass ruff presented on the runway during the Fuzjon Fashion Show by the beautiful Ludivine received a massive round of applause from the audience, for which I am immensely grateful. The model's charm, the delicate beauty of the glass, the extraordinary atmosphere of Biot, and the perfectly prepared show together created an unforgettable memory of that evening. The turnout was so overwhelming that only half of those interested managed to get into the Jardin FreĢdeĢric Mistral to watch the show. Evenings like that give a powerful boost of creative energy. The Renaissance millstone collar was a symbol of prestige. From my perspective, today it symbolizes the invisible yet palpable social corsets that we metaphorically put on ourselves. Our clothes are comfortable today, but our bodies remain tense, perhaps even more so than in the 15th century... And you? This year's Biot International Glass Festival and the accompanying Fashion Show were an extraordinary space for experimentation. On the runway, I presented other projects, but this particular piece remains very close to my heart. "The Millstone Collar"- that extraordinary garment which, in the Renaissance era, was an undeniable symbol of the highest social status, refined taste, and elite membership, has fascinated me for a long time. Back then, the stiffened collar proudly elevated itself above the body, yet it also ruthlessly forced a specific posture: it prevented the wearer from freely tilting their head, dictated a rigid rhythm, and controlled every movement. Has the Renaissance millstone collar truly become a relic of the past? I often catch myself wearing its invisible, mental counterparts today. I put on a social corset, step into roles I supposedly ought to play, and conform to the expectations of my surroundings. One of my friends even suggested hypnosis to get rid of this unbearable lack of confidence once and for all. What do you think? AĢ€ lā€™occasion du deĢfileĢ Fusion du @b.i.g_festival de Biot, jā€™ai eu le plaisir de renouveler une collaboration avec @afiyapaice, styliste londonienne, autour dā€™une robe penseĢe aĢ€ quatre mains. Des boucles en paĢ‚te de verre viennent ici structurer la silhouette, provoquer les plis et dessiner dans le tissus. Le verre nā€™est plus un accessoire : il devient une partie du veĢ‚tement, presque son architecture. Nous avons travailleĢ aĢ€ distance, et cā€™est seulement le jour du deĢfileĢ que jā€™ai deĢcouvert la magnifique reĢalisation dā€™Afiya, porteĢe par @ceceblg, et mise en lumieĢ€re par @madame_ernest. Hair Art & Glass āœØ A Collaboration in Craft šŸ’š This sculptural hair art piece was created following an invitation from RoĢisiĢn de BuitleĢar, after our collaboration on the Glass Runway with the Glass Society of Ireland and the Council of Irish Fashion Designers in 2024. RoĢisiĢn created a new glass piece for a fashion show in Biot, South of France, this September, a contemporary beaded corset inspired by the graveyard corsages popular in the 19th century. She invited me to create a wig to become part of this wearable artwork. Researching the history of the 19th-century funeral corsage led me to Victorian mourning jewellery, particularly intricate pieces created using preserved human hair. I was fascinated by the craftsmanship and symbolism of these historic works. Inspired by traditional hair-weaving techniques, I explored how preserved-hair craftsmanship could be reimagined through a contemporary approach to wig making, hair sculpture and wearable art. The resulting piece, Elegy, combines hair, fashion and glass, drawing on historical craft while creating something distinctly modern. I still can't believe it! āœØ I am so incredibly grateful to have taken part in the Fuzion Fashion Show in Biot, France. My wearable glass sculptures, a necklace and a bracelet made from colorless, frosted borosilicate glass using flameworking techniques, inspired by the delicate organic structures of plant roots, were featured in this amazing event. The necklace and bracelet are now part of a special exhibition dedicated to the fashion show at the Biot Museum of History and Ceramics- MuseĢe dā€™Histoire et de CeĢramique Biotoises, running through October 25, 2026. "The Queenā€™s New Clothes" continues my artistic exploration of the philosophy of embodiment, the understanding that mind and body are inseparably connected, and that every inner experience leaves a lasting imprint on physical matter. Reinterpreting the classic tale, the queenā€™s garment ceases to be an illusion or a symbol of social status. Instead, it is woven from flameworked glass fibers that evoke the intricate networks of blood vessels, cellular structures, and living tissues hidden beneath the skin. Glass, simultaneously fragile and transparent, yet rigid and susceptible to fracture, becomes a material that reveals rather than conceals.
