🚢 Building Name: PortMiami 💡 Owner: Royal Caribbean 💻 Architect: Bruno-Elias & Associates 🔨 General Contractor: C.G. Chase Construction Company 📍 Location: Miami, Florida, U.S. 🎉 Completion Date: November 1999 ⭐ Membrane Material: PTFE Fiberglass 【About the Building】 Located on the waterfront in Miami, Florida, this facility is a departure point for cruise ships. A series of undulating white PTFE membrane roofs runs along the quay, forming a landmark of the port's skyline. Light filtered through the membrane gives the waiting areas a bright and open feel for passengers before they board. 【About Membrane Structures】 Membrane structures use lightweight, flexible and highly translucent membrane materials. Taking advantage of the membrane's lightness, they can create vast, column-free spaces while combining high strength with flexibility despite their thin profile. White membrane materials also allow natural daylight to filter through, keeping interior spaces bright even without artificial lighting during the day. 【About Taiyo Kogyo Corporation ( @taiyokogyo ) 】 With local project offices in 9 countries, and a project portfolio that spans all 7 continents, we are a global leader in the field of large membrane structures. Our architectural fabric structures support the safety and security of society, and are built on the foundation of our company philosophy, “We redefine what membranes can be, transforming any space, experience or environment.” 建物名：PortMiami（旧：Port of Miami） 施主：Royal Caribbean 設計：Bruno-Elias & Associates ゼネコン：C.G. ________________________________________ #design #architecture #architect #建築 #設計 by @birdairinc
Welcome to State Farm Stadium! This architectural icon is designed to score big. 🏈 You may have even seen it on the Discovery Channel's Extreme Engineering. Designed with a focus on cutting-edge technology, this PTFE roof can fully retract in about 12 minutes and is the first stadium in North America to feature a retractable roof operating on an incline and a fully retractable grass playing surface. What do you think puts this project in the end zone? 👇 📍Phoenix, AZ ✒️ HOK, Eisenman Architects 🏛️ Walter P Moore 🚧 Hunt Construction Group 🏗️ PTFE-coated fiberglass membrane by @birdairinc
