This summer @danieltriendl and I had the chance to work on various animal illustrations for lovely @terramatermag magazine. Thanks @isabelneudhart for the opportunity, it was a lot of fun!

For Birgit Palma @birgitpalma, typography is not simply about words or rules. Letters are shapes, visual containers, and expressive tools — capable of carrying emotion, creating connection, and adding meaning beyond the written message.

In the interview for our annual publication Visual Voices for Change, Birgit talks about finding the space between typography and illustration, breaking free from rigid ideas of what letters should be, exploring the beauty of different languages, and bringing more kindness and empathy into design.

Her reminder is simple: in a world of fast-forward, “fast food” design, there’s still a human being on the other side of the screen.

endlich20!

Just realised that I never posted this illustration from the Adobe Illustrator Classroom Book. It's about learning how to handle gradients & blends. Thanks for the trust Brian :) by @birgitpalma

For me, Kindness starts from within. To show it to the world, you have to start with yourself, and time for oneself is usually the rarest good of all.

I'm so excited to be joining forces with a bunch of other talented artists for this edition of #FightForKindness ! Thanks to @typecampus & @zetafonts and @deboramanetti for the invitation. Last chance to enter is June 15th - join the force!

Do you ever feel overwhelmed by the pressure of creative work? Need another blackout to disconnect? Welcome to the club. ⚡

“I feel there’s always a kind of pressure on the shoulders of freelancers that makes me uneasy sometimes. Needless to say, it’s me who put most of the pressure on there, so I know there’s a way out of it.”

These are the words of @birgitpalma, an Austrian illustrator and designer based in Barcelona.

🃏 In her #OFFF Seville talk, Birgit shared her sources of inspiration and visual universe and gave the audience a deck of illustrated cards — her creative jokers.

Kinda feeling restrained these days, not sure if because of politics or AI. Let's see how we get out of this mess.
