Hey Knoxville, I have a few spots available still for winter due dates.

My niche as a birth worker is VBACs and unmedicated labor support. As a vbac mom myself, I know what it feels to need support after a C-section birth.

I love using science and nutrition to give moms the best support for their physiology.

If you feel in alignment with my values let’s meet for coffee! taken in Knoxville, Tennessee by @birthwithheidi

Postpartum body dysmorphia can be relentless. You look in the mirror and wonder where the familiar landmarks went. Abs gone. Loose skin. New stretch marks. Rounded face. No sleep.
Clouded thoughts. Bloodshot eyes.
Birth trauma. Pelvic floor injury. Rehab.
Can’t walk.
Where am I underneath all this?
Who am I again?
What does it mean if I can’t do things yet?
Am I a bad wife for needing so much?
Will he still love me? by @birthwithheidi

This needed a permanent spot on my profile💗

This student midwife journey has taught me so much. Namely that nuance is SO crucial. I love a butter birth, and I strongly believe in supporting physiology. But I had to stop saying “I trust birth”. If there’s one thing I’ve seen and learned over the past 2 years of doing birth work, it’s that a mom can do everything right and still end up with a traumatic birth.

So now I live by my faith. I trust God. I trust Him to be my strength in the birth room. I trust Him to use my hands for His kingdom. I trust my life to reflect Him. I trust that He can turn hard circumstances into an opportunity for good, growth, and His glory.

For birth workers out there, what are the ways you support yourself mentally after a hard birth? by @birthwithheidi

POV it’s a hot summer day and you’re in your mama’s arms. Sibilings are giggling and running circles around you. There’s cookies in the oven making the whole house smell delicious. The afternoon sun is glowing over you. In few minutes you know you’re going to get snuggles and drift off into a milky slumber. Life is good. by @birthwithheidi

It’s been almost a year since Wrenleigh was born. Almost a year of love, and grieving what her birth could have been, grateful for her survival, and handing it all over to God daily. All winter long I was like Lord, JUST GROW SOMETHING good already. And then slowly, that seed emerged into a sprout. As my girl grew, my faith did too. The anger left. the sun came out. I’m in midwifery where I belong. My daughters are all thriving. My marriage is healthy. I’m strong again physically. It didn’t happen overnight though.

Let the hard be hard. Hold on to the prayer to grow. Hang on to the promises and character of God.

So if you’re in a post traumatic season, lament, plead, and do the work to grow. You can’t will yourself past healing the wounds. #posttraumaticgrowth #birthtrauma by @birthwithheidi
