Stop planning and start actually preparing. If you want to have a homebirth, I can help. ❤️‍🔥

I’m a former hospital doula who had her first baby at home. Now I help women meet homebirth with embodied confidence. DM me to start chatting. If you decide you’d like to go deeper, I’d be honored to walk the path with you. 🫂

Send this to a pregnant woman you know who’s planning to birth in the comfort of her own home. 💌

Took myself out on a little date last night. Walked the local marina, watched the sunset on a patio, read an entire chapter uninterrupted. All because I asked for what I wanted. Highly recommend.

Funny story - after the patio sunset reading sesh I walked to grab a slice of pizza and an ice cream cone. Doused the slice in red pepper flakes since I didn’t have to share any bites. Then I’m strolling while eating… a gust of wind comes and immediately I’m saying aloud, “oh no… oh no…” because pepper flake particles caught the wind and landed in my eye. There I was… walking, talking to myself, crying, laughing. 😂 Quite the scene. The tears worked their magic - they always do. The ice cream made it all better. by @birthyourbliss

One day these snuggle naps will end and I’ll be so glad I got as many moments like this as I did.

There was a time, earlier in my journey, when I fought this reality - a time I wished he would sleep without the heat of my body next to him so I could just get one damn thing done or one moment *gasp* by myself. I struggled against it and cried and begged.

But this is actually what we both need. And once I accepted it instead of fighting it, it became a gift.

If you’re a mom in the depths, fighting the realities of sleep in your home, remember that it’s all temporary. Remember that surrender to what is will set you free. ❤️‍🔥 by @birthyourbliss

My husband likes having TVs and I can’t stand looking at the big life sucking black boxes. So here’s what I can control - when it’s not in use, a lovely shawl draped over it. You’re welcome.

Second pic is a screenshot from my Healy aura scan last night right after I had this idea and did it. That felt very fitting. “I responsibly control that which is to be controlled.” You already know I vibrated to myself those desired state frequencies. 💖 by @birthyourbliss

Recently I had a conversation with a pregnant woman approaching her birth portal. She was grieving her previous c-section due to breech positioning and asked me my top recommendations for having an unmedicated birth this time around.

Here’s a summary of what a told her-

1. Tend to your preconceived notions about pain. Reframe “pain” in your mind and embody those shifts now. Understand that the pain during labor and birth is different than something being wrong in the body (it’s not like a broken bone). It’s not necessarily something to be fixed. In the remainder of your pregnancy, when something in your body feels painful… pause and notice it. Could you call it discomfort? Rather than calling it pain can you describe the sensation? It is less than ideal but bearable? Is it an urgent message that something is wrong or is it simply asking for your attention and that you tend to something? Can you send your breath there and soften instead of tensing around the sensation?

2. Be incredibly discerning with who and what you invite in to the birth experience. Abolish your people pleasing tendencies. This is about you and your baby - no one else. The biggest disturbances are external factors that are going against what your body is naturally doing in birth. Your hormones are easily influenced. Don’t underestimate the gravity of how you feel around the people who are around.

3. Connect with your wild woman side. And during labor, let yourself be wild. Fuck the aesthetics of your birth space. You don’t need twinkle lights and a birth tub and a calm demeanor. You need to move your hips and roar and freely pee and puke. You should probably sit on the toilet and flail around like an animal while you fully face the sensations you’re moving through.

Moms of more than one - help!

Pregnant moms to be with your first - hold on… (but actually, let go) you’re in for the ride of your life. 😅

Going from zero to one was absolutely insane (in my experience) and I wonder if going from 1 to 2 is any softer? Please comment and let me know. Even if it’s not what I wanna hear… I gotta know🫠 by @birthyourbliss

I hosted a women’s circle last night and no one came.

Backing up… In June I tried hosting a circle (which would have been my first) but when no one had registered two days before the event, I gave up and took the registration page down from the website.

My ego didn’t want to show up and set everything up and pay for the space rental just to have no one come. I wasn’t ready for that feeling of rejection. Of course it wasn’t a rejection of me, it was likely due to more practical logistics and marketing. But the little girl inside of me was making up that meaning out of it. It felt like a failure.

Now fast forward to last night, my second attempt. Two days before no one has registered. Day-of no one had registered. But I decided I’d show up anyway. I’d set everything up with love and intention, and if even one person walked through the door to join me, amazing. Regardless of what happened I wasn’t going to let it feel like a failure.

This idea for the circle series came out of a deep desire to create something that I wish existed - that I felt myself and surely other women too, really needed. It wasn’t about me, it was about us.

This time I didn’t make the same meaning out of no one coming. I didn’t let the little child inside of me and my ego direct the show. I showed up anyway. And it didn’t feel like a failure at all. I had a beautiful time. Would I have preferred being with other women instead of on my own? Yes. But the time still felt like medicine to me, even on my own.

I engaged in the practices I’d planned on sharing and marveled at the beautiful sacred space I created with little bits and pieces of so many women that I love.

I drank the nettle/rose/chamomile tea that I’d prepared and burned the candle I’d been saving for the occasion.

I embodied my own wild woman a little bit more and showed up anyway even when I was scared. I’m proud of myself for not giving up. And am more excited than ever for the next event in the series on November 8th. It’s going to be absolutely beautiful - no matter what it may look like on the outside. Just like last night. by @birthyourbliss
