Typically I’m sharing a high intense moment from my presentation of the word or worship experience; but I thought to share a pastoral moment I had with my parishioners.Spiritual engagement must be inclusive of psychological and emotional awareness and sensitivity. If we don’t know how to properly engage people, we cannot purposefully be the church. Not the robe, not the collar, not the colors nor the size of the building. Wellness will lead the community to wholeness. Be well, not just for your sake, but also for those you influence.To provide context: This wasn’t a rebuke but the conclusion of a message I shared with our church about addressing the root of matters that contribute to the development of our monstrous behaviors. While this clip highlights the need to be kind, I also identified so many other toxic traits that plague our behavioral patterns. The verbiage used is meant to be comical while shining a light on a serious issue within our community. Mental health is of the utmost importance and we must ensure our strength in that area. Dropped in to celebrate my Bishop’s Founder’s Day/Birthday and what an AMAZING celebration it was. I was just sitting there enjoying the Tabernacle Choir’s concert when @bishophez decided to hand me the microphone. Now why would Bishop put me on the spot like this?? That does it, I’m officially apart of the choir now 😂. Forgiveness is your right of choice to give. Forced forgiveness is still unforgiving. To forgive another is to absolve them from the penance owed and it is to heal from the impact/damages of the offense. Just remember that while it is your choice to distribute or withhold, if you’re looking to receive forgiveness it hangs of the henges of your willingness to forgive.🫢 I got a little happy at the end, but I calmed myself back down. Honestly, this is literally me at any given time and place, I’m liable to break out singing (humming). Just before preaching for Bishop @mtalbert812 and his great church, this moment of worship occurred. A great time was had!Additionally, this clip highlights the beautiful chemistry that can be had with the pulpit and the organ bench. Something other worldly happens when there’s a synchronous harmony between priest and minstrel. He doesn’t have his own social media so I cannot tag him, but I appreciate this kind of fusion that happens unrehearsed. B. Pentecost is more than an event! Pentecost is packed with motive to unify humanity with under the will of God. Man unified against God brought about separation and confusion through language barriers. (Genesis 11)Man unified with God restores relatability, clarity and comprehension through cohesion. (Acts 2)If all we leave with is our Pentecostal/charismatic expressions, we’ve only mastered the form but have failed to embrace the power of the same.
