🌅 MORNING DEVOTIONAL
Title: “FAITH WITHOUT ACTION IS JUST TALK!”
Scripture Reference: James 2:17–18 (NKJV)
“Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. But someone will say, ‘You have faith, and I have works.’ Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.”
🔥 OPENING ILLUSTRATION: “YOU CAN'T DRIVE A PARKED CAR!”
Good morning, family and friends.

Imagine sitting in your driveway, holding the keys to a brand-new vehicle. The engine works, the tank is full, and the destination is already programmed into the GPS.
You sit there praying, “Lord, take me where I'm supposed to go!”
But you never start the engine. You never put the car in drive. You never take your foot off the brake.
You have everything necessary to move forward, but you're still sitting in the driveway!
Here's the revelation: God can provide the vehicle, but you still have to put it in drive!
Too many believers are praying for movement while refusing to move.
We pray for opportunities but never prepare.
We pray for financial freedom but refuse to practice discipline.
We pray for stronger marriages but refuse to communicate.
We pray for better health but refuse to change our habits.
We pray for spiritual growth but never open our Bibles.
Church, faith is not just believing God CAN. Faith is trusting God enough to ACT!
📖 DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT: “YOUR ACTIONS REVEAL YOUR FAITH!”
James challenges us with a powerful truth: Genuine faith produces visible evidence.
James isn't teaching that we earn salvation through good works. He's teaching that living faith produces action.
You cannot claim to trust God while continually refusing to obey His Word.
Consider these biblical examples:
1. Noah's Faith Made Him BUILD!
(Genesis 6:22)
God warned Noah about something he had never experienced. Noah didn't just believe God's warning; he started building the ark.
Faith doesn't wait until everything makes sense. Faith obeys God's instructions.
2. Abraham's Faith Made Him MOVE!
(Hebrews 11:8)
When God called Abraham to leave his homeland, Abraham obeyed without knowing his final destination.
Sometimes God won't reveal the entire journey until you take the first step. by @bishopbldavis

🙏 THE MEANING OF BAPTISM
Water baptism is an outward declaration of an inward transformation. It symbolizes our identification with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
When we go down into the water, we identify with Christ's burial. When we rise from the water, we celebrate the new life we have in Him!

I'm going down identifying with Christ's death, but I'm coming up celebrating His resurrection!
I'm going down declaring that the old life is over, and I'm coming up ready to walk in NEWNESS OF LIFE!
THIS IS MY RESET! 🙌🏽💧

MEN’S DEVOTIONAL
RESET: How to Deal With Failure
Scripture:
“Though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again.” — Proverbs 24:16 (NIV)
FAILURE ISN’T FINAL
Men, every man who attempts something meaningful will eventually experience failure.
You may fail in business.
You may fail financially.
You may fail as a leader.
You may make a bad decision.
You may mishandle a relationship.
You may even fall spiritually.
But failure is an event—it does not have to become your identity.
There is a difference between saying, “I failed,” and saying, “I am a failure.”
One describes what happened.
The other defines who you are.
God never told you to build your identity around your worst moment.
THE DASHBOARD ILLUSTRATION
When a warning light comes on in your car, you don't throw the entire car away.
The light is telling you:
Something needs your attention.
You diagnose the problem.
You make the necessary adjustment.
You repair what needs repairing.
Then you get back on the road.
Failure is often a warning light, not the end of the journey.
Some men see failure and quit.
Mature men see failure and ask:
“What is this trying to teach me?”
That's the RESET.
1. OWN IT
Stop blaming everybody else.
Adam blamed Eve.
Saul blamed the people.
But David eventually said:
“I have sinned against the LORD.” — 2 Samuel 12:13
Men, responsibility is power.
You cannot correct what you refuse to confront.
A mature man can say:
I was wrong.
I made the decision.
I accept responsibility.
Now I'm going to make the necessary changes.
That's leadership.
2. LEARN FROM IT
Don't just go through failure—grow through failure.
Ask yourself:
What did this failure reveal about me?
Did it expose a lack of discipline?
Poor planning?
Pride?
Bad relationships?
Weak boundaries?
Financial irresponsibility?
Spiritual neglect?
Failure can become one of life's greatest classrooms if you're humble enough to learn the lesson.
Don't waste the failure.
3. GET BACK UP
Proverbs 24:16 doesn't say righteous men never fall.
It says they rise again.
Peter failed Jesus publicly.
He denied Him three times.
But Jesus restored Peter, and Peter went on to preach at Pentecost and become a powerful leader in the early church. by @bishopbldavis

MEN’S DEVOTIONAL 🛡️
CAN WE TALK ABOUT YOU?
Scripture: 1 Corinthians 3:1–2 (NIV)
“I could not address you as people who live by the Spirit but as people who are still worldly—mere infants in Christ. I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready for it.”
“POP THE HOOD”
Men, imagine you're driving down the highway and suddenly the check-engine light comes on.
Most men know exactly what happens next.
You look at the dashboard.
The car still sounds good.
It's still moving.
The air is still blowing.
The radio is still playing.
So you tell yourself, “I'm good.”
And you keep driving.
But that light didn't come on because the car stopped moving.
The light came on because something needs attention.
You can turn up the radio, but the problem is still there.
You can wash the car, put some shine on the tires, and make the outside look good—but the problem is still there.
You can even tell everybody, “Man, this car runs great!”
But eventually, somebody has to pop the hood.
Men, that's what God wants to do with us this morning.
We know how to keep moving.
Go to work.
Pay the bills.
Take care of business.
Show up for everybody.
Smile when people ask how we're doing and say, “I'm good.”
But just because you're still moving doesn't mean everything underneath the hood is healthy.
Some of us have warning lights flashing spiritually, emotionally, relationally, financially—and we've learned how to keep driving.
And God isn't trying to embarrass you.
He's trying to get you to pull over long enough to deal with what's underneath the hood.
So men, can we talk?
Not about your wife.
Not about your children.
Not about your boss.
Not about the government.
Not about the church.
Not about the people who disappointed you.
Can we talk about YOU?
Because eventually, every man who wants to grow has to stop pointing through the windshield at what's wrong with everybody else and allow God to look underneath his hood.
THE REAL QUESTION
Paul essentially tells the Corinthian church:
“There are some things I want to discuss with you, but you're not mature enough to have the conversation.”
Think about that.
The issue wasn't that God had nothing more to say. by @bishopbldavis
