The Dreamy Goat • Inverurie📍 What I ordered: Tropical smoothie Nipped in here for a drink while on a walk last Friday and quickly realised I need a trip here for food asap!! I just grabbed a smoothie and this was gorgeous. It had mango, pineapple and cranberries in it. She even gave me an extra straw incase it got choked up. The fine pieces and food menu looked SO good 🤩 Service for drinks was a bit slow I found, but there was just one girl on and 3 of us ordering different drinks so fair enough. 8/10 🥤 by @biteswithjoy_
Marmaris • Inverurie📍 What I ordered: Small chips cheese and doner meat Chilli cheese bites This was one of my favourite takeaways when I lived in Inverurie and I haven’t had it in so long (while not drunk loool) I went for my go to order and this did not disappoint, hit in all the ways I wanted it to 🙌🏼 The garlic sauce from here is SOO good!! Loveee how you can choose what salad you want & it comes separately. 10/10 😮‍💨 by @biteswithjoy_
Inverurie Garden Centre 📍 What I ordered: 6 item breakfast Kids pancake No complaints of this breakfast, everything was so tasty. I have a personal preference of liking crispier bacon though. You get 2 pieces of bacon that counts as 1 item though so that’s a bonus! & it comes with tea or filter coffee included so I went for tea. Ava’s pancake was delicious, so fresh and fluffy 😊 (the toddler would not let me take a photo 🤦🏽‍♀️) The kids play area isn’t as good as it used to be, but still kept her entertained for some peace on a stormy Sunday! 9/10 by @biteswithjoy_
McDonald’s📍 What I ordered: Mcextreme burger Paprika shaker fries Mac and cheese triangles I think I possibly have tried this burger in Spain before but I couldn’t remember, I just recognise the taste 🤣 It was so good!! HUGE & so filling. The baconnaise and onion combo is 👌🏼 I loved the paprika shaker fries, sweet but salty, something a wee bit different. I’ve had the mac and cheese triangles before, I think they came out this time last year too? But these are so cheesy and crispy. Loveeee 😮‍💨 Everything was fresh this time!! 10/10 from me 🙌🏼 by @biteswithjoy_
Thorneybank Farm Shop • near Rothienorman 📍 I have driven past here sooo many times and never stopped but I did last Sunday and it was so cool! Never seen this concept before and they do so many different things. Ready meals, fresh milk & milkshakes, home bakes, coffee, fruit/veg & loads more! It’s like a massive room vending machine, I loved this concept so much. You choose what you want, pay, then the individual doors open with the item! I picked up: Chicken curry lasagne ready meal Salted caramel milkshake Mars bar crispies Caber coffee ground coffee bag for home The chicken curry lasagne was so tasty. So handy to just chuck in the oven but it being homemade and actually good is a bonus🙌🏼 Loved the salted caramel milkshake aswell, proper creamy milk 🤤 The mars bar crispies were a little bit stale but still tasty none the less! I haven’t actually tried the caber coffee in my own machine yet. Thought I’d post about this incase anyone was curious about this place but never been in like me! 😊 by @biteswithjoy_
Six by Nico • Aberdeen 📍 This was the Guilty Pleasures menu. Course 1, 2 & 3 all came at the same time! Course 1 - bacon butty LOVED this. Was difficult to cut but so flavoursome and tasted like a bacon butty for sure! Course 2 - chips cheese & curry My fave out of the first 3, super crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. The curry emulsion and the cheese combo 🤤 Course 3 - cheese on toast Loved this, it wasn’t hot though which I didn’t love (not sure if it’s meant to be). Toast would’ve been nice crispier in my opinion. Course 4 - pepperoni pizza This was so rich & cheesy, I wouldn’t have that again but I will say it tasted like a pepperoni pizza. It had cut up bits of pepperoni and croutons throughout it which was nice, it’s just too cheesy! Course 5 - Mac and cheese Tasty Mac and cheese but didn’t love the sides that came with it, was like cabbage/celeriac? Not sure, felt a bit random to me. Course 6 - burger This is the first time I’ve tried beef tartare and I’m not sure I’d have this again. The texture just wasn’t it for me 🤣 loved the burger sauce/pickly taste though! Course 7 - fish and chips This was quite good! Didn’t love it, didn’t hate it. The tartare sauce was lovely!! I didn’t feel like there was enough “chip” aspect though. The bits of beer batter scraps I did have were unreal though! Course 8 - chicken curry This was on the spicier side. The rice was quite dry and definitely think the chicken to rice ratio was off but the sauce amount was perfect. The 2 dessert courses were on the same plate too. Course 9 - six flurry WOW. This was unreal soft serve ice cream! Loved the honeycomb on top Course 10 - warm cookie dough Literally this was insane aswell. The cookie could’ve been fresher but this honestly hit the spot. The ice cream/custard thing was so delicious! Overall, one observation was I felt like there was crispy onions on everything. I just don’t love them, they don’t need to be on everything in my eyes 😂😂 The first 3 courses and the dessert were my favourites. I’m gonna go for 8/10 as the courses 4-6 could’ve been better but the rest made up for it. 🍴 @sixbynicoaberdeen_ by @biteswithjoy_
Mexikcal, Dirty Murphy’s • Aberdeen 📍 What I ordered: Birria tacos Flamin hot Cheeto birria bombs Been meaning to go here for so long & finally got the chance on Saturday. These birria tacos were soo tasty! Genuinely think I could drink the consome that it comes with 😋 The bombs were good too and came with a cheesy dip which was delicious too but I definitely preferred the birria tacos. Look at that cheese pull though 🤤 We were gutted cos we wanted the flamin hot Cheeto mozzarella sticks after seeing them on their social media but they didn’t have them on yet 😔 9/10 🌮 @mexikcal by @biteswithjoy_
Kellockbank • Insch 📍 What we ordered: Fully loaded flithy fries Macaroni cheese with bbq pulled pork Iced banana bread latte I went for the fully loaded fries so I could get a bit of everything. It came loaded with bbq pulled pork, beef chilli, crispy chicken, jalepenos, pickled red onions, coleslaw (which I don’t think I had actually) cheese, crushed tortilla chips with a sour cream and lime drizzle. This intrigued me cos it’s all a bit of everything and I do feel like it was a bit busy if you know what I mean 🤣 it was all so tasty! The macaroni was gorgeous and creamy, and the bbq pulled pork wasn’t too bbq tasting so it wasn’t sickening! The iced banana bread latte was lovely! Not too strong tasting in banana which I loved as I don’t like a fake banana taste, but you still knew it was there. The fine pieces always look insane from here! 8/10 🍴 @kellockbank by @biteswithjoy_
Big Daddy’s street food 📍 (again🫢) What I ordered: Angus smash burger wrap and chips I’ve been craving this since I first seen it on his specials a few weeks ago but I hadn’t had the chance to get one. He was back in Rothie on Friday night so I went down for my tea and this was unreal and exactly what I was after! It had lettuce, crispy onions, cheese, burger sauce, pickles and onions all chopped up and popped in a wrap. The chips are always so crispy and salted perfectly here 🤤 10/10 🍔 @bigdaddysstreetfood by @biteswithjoy_
Subway 📍 What I ordered: Spicy italian sub on heart Italian with lettuce, cucumber, peppers, onions, jalepenos, chipotle southwest sauce and garlic & herb sauce I just wanted to share this subway order because this was new for me and MY GOD it was amazing. 10/10 🥪 by @biteswithjoy_
Amarone • Aberdeen📍 What I ordered: Pizza campione I haven’t been to Amarone for agesss!! This pizza was gorgeous, however I did find it quite overpowering with the tomato taste from the sauce. Not enough cheese near the crusts for me. Perfect amount of toppings though! Service was great here aswell 😊 8/10 🍕 @amaronerestaurants by @biteswithjoy_
Hoodles • Oldmeldrum 📍 What I ordered: Kids breakfast Malsteser slice Was here to let Ava run riot & went for a kids breakfast as I wasn’t too hungry but wanted a little something & this hit the spot! Always comes so quick too. Genuinely no complaints (apart from the fact Ava told me she didn’t want toast then stole mine🙃) This malteser slice was gorgeous!! They didn’t have any of my favourite truffles this day ☹️ 10/10 🍳 @hoodlesplaybarn by @biteswithjoy_
