Deja, dirbtinis intelektas jau gan giliai įsiskverbęs į mūsų gyvenimus ir nereikia apsimetinėti, kad taip nėra. Tik kol dauguma naudoja jį informacijos paieškai, kurią per pusę sekundės gali rasti google, arba šeria savo atvaizdą, norėdami pamatyti, kaip atrodė 80-aisiais (tiesiog atsiverskit nuotraukų albumą), jau nemaža dalis žmonių su DI kompanjonais... kuria romantinius santykius.
Ši knyga – apie tokią nesuvokiamą vienatvės epidemiją, kad vienintelis būdas susirasti partnerį yra susikurti tokį internete. Tai juk daug geriau nei kurti santykius su žmonėmis, kurie yra sudėtingi, nenuspėjami, ne visada vystosi taip, kaip tu nori. Esant romantiniame santykyje su virtualia persona gali būti tikras, kad palaikymą gausi 24/7. Tai pamažu peraugs į santuoką, norą įsivaikinti... Ir čia ne aš sugalvojau. Čia tikrų autoriaus kalbintų asmenų istorijos.
Ir ok, kad taip vyksta, aš žinojau, bet labiausiai mane pribloškė skyrius apie gedulo botus – man visiškai nauja sritis. Pasirodo, yra ne viena sėkmingai veikianti programėlė, kur gali bendrauti su savo mirusiu artimuoju (prieš tai į ją perkėlęs kiek įmanoma daugiau informacijos, įskaitant balsą, kad būtų sukurtas kuo tikroviškesnis bendravimas). Kaip ir suprantamas noras, bet kur čia jau baigiasi sveikas protas? Vienos iš programėlių kūrėjas tiesiog nekenčia sielvarto ir teigia taip savo klientams padedantis, bet ar sielvartas nėra gyvenimo dalis? Žinoma, kad siaubingai nemaloni ir neišvengiama, bet bet kokiu atveju būtina, ypatingai kalbant apie gedulą. Čia jau kyla galybė etinių problemų: gedulo komercializavimas, elementarios duomenų apsaugos nebuvimas... Nežinau, kaip jūs, bet aš tai nenorėčiau susikurti savo skaitmeninio klono tam, kad gal kažkas kažkada norės sužinoti, kaip gyvenau. Skaitmeninis pėdsakas per gyvenimą ir taip begalinis, be to, gal tiesiog leiskim žmogui pailsėt 😅 Toks nemirtingumas visiškai nedomina.

Skaitosi labai lengvai, iš dalies ir dėl to, kad tiesiog sunku patikėti, kad tai vyksta iš tikrųjų. Dar visai neseniai apie tokius dalykus skaitėme distopijas, o dabar jau ‐ apie atliktus realius tyrimus. Labai trikdanti, nejauki knyga, bet tikrai sukelianti apmąstymų apie tai, kiek toli galima nueiti. by @bitofabookcase

I. am. speechless!! This book is so worth all the hype and should get even more 🔥
I started to listen to it with knowing two things: it's a hit on insta and the unusual color of the cover.

And actually, I couldn't to describe the plot even if I wanted to. It's like a book in a book with very multidimensional characters. Not once I was bored! My opinion about them changed as organically as the story went. The plot is twisted, the monologues (my fave part probably, those intrusive thoughts) are sharp and witty, and I can assure you that you won't be the same person as you were before picking up this book.

Because really, how far can we go for a good story? Do we really know the farthest corners of the soul in others and ourselves? Is the future decided for us or do we have a say in it?
ALSO. Don't miss out on the audiobook – the narration is next level! I believe it was 80% why I enjoyed Fruit Fly so much 🪰 And yes, I recommend it to everyone! For once a hyped book exceeded my expectations... 😅

Don't know about you, but I refer to some of my books as ✨️trophies✨️.
On this trophy shelf I have some stories that I've read multiple times – some of them I know by heart. Usually I own more than one copy of them as well hehe.
So these are my most precious trophies – some of them I got really hard, the other ones I'm not sure I'll open again (looking at you, Whisper). BUT the one thing they have in common is that I like to look at them. Simply as that 😅

Will I continue to buy books that I've already read and do not own? Absolutely 💅🏼 Trophies won't come to my home themselves.

Įveikiau. Nors ir pasirodė, kad įveikti reikėjo ne pačią knygą, o baimę ją pradėti 😅 Taip, laikiau šią knygą lentynoje dvejus metus, vis manydama, kad jai reikia atitinkamos nuotaikos (kokios? nieks nežino). Ir tik prieš kelias dienas pajaučiau, kad DABAR. Dabar yra tas metas, kai noriu ir galiu paimti šį monumentalų kūrinį į rankas.

Tikrai nenusivyliau.
Kaip ir tikėjausi, knyga be galo tamsi, žiauri, be jokio šviesos spindulėlio. Ir tuo pačiu ją sudėtinga padėti į šalį – turi savyje kažkokios magijos, gebėjimą įtraukti ir tais įmantriais sakiniais veda per dykumas, per kaulais nusėtas niekieno negyvenamas vietoves ir krauju paženklintą kelią, kuriuo praėjo žmogus. Atrodo, ir tas dulkes aplink jaučiau, ir purvą, ir visą tą neviltį.
Ir tik likus kokiems 50 psl. stabtelėjau ir pagalvojau, kad net negalėčiau niekam papasakoti siužeto, nes tos vienos ryškios linijos tarsi ir nėra. Viskas susilieja į viena – istoriniai faktai ir sapnai – ką jau ten ir beatskirsi.

O labiausiai mane sužavėjo knygos vertimas. Esu visiškai pakerėta tokiu vertėjo Vido Morkūno darbu. Negalėjau net įsivaizduoti, kad lietuvių kalboje turime tokių žodžių – nebijau pasisakyti, kad nemažos dalies net reikšmių nežinau, ir čia man viena gražiausių skaitymo patirčių. Tekstas kupinas "keliaaukščių" sakinių, jie sudėtingi, veiksmas vyksta XIX a. viduryje, o kalba išlaikyta autentiška, ką, neabejoju, buvo ypač sunku padaryti. Tad taip, paties McCarthy tekstas jau savaime didžiulis savo užmoju ir esybe, bet pateikti jį lietuvių skaitytojui taip pat yra ne menkesnių aplodismentų vertas darbas.

Tokių knygų rekomenduoti dažniausiai negaliu, kad ir kaip man jos patiktų – Kraujo meridianas yra viena iš tų, kurioms tiesiog ateina arba neateina laikas. Labai džiaugiuosi, kad aš jos išlaukiau.
