My favorite family photo so far might just be the first one🤍✨

Olpererhütte had been on our list for such a long tim, since the days when my then-boyfriend and I lived apart, were figuring out long distance, and had no idea what the future would bring.

Turns out, the future brought us things we hadn’t even dared to dream of.

Years later, we finally made it here with our little boy, who happened to be the tiniest guest at the hut that day. All thanks to his dad, who carried him up 600 m of elevation and over the rocky trail like it was nothing.

Some places are worth waiting for 🤍 by @bitsofzaraa

I used to dream of a big career in surgery. Hospitals became my second home, and working 80+ hours a week felt normal. My husband would come to the hospital just so we could spend a little time together.

Then this tiny little human came into our lives, completely unplanned.

Everything changed.

Not in the way I had imagined but in the best way possible.

He reminded me that success isn’t measured by the hours you work or the title you earn. It’s measured by the moments you share with the people you love.

Now I know what truly matters.

Family will always be the most important part of my life. 🤍 by @bitsofzaraa

A little real life fairytale corner of Switzerland 🇨🇭

📍Grimentz feels like one of those places that somehow stayed frozen in time. This old village is filled with centuries-old wooden houses and granaries, narrow lanes and balconies overflowing with geraniums✨

Despite being known as one of Switzerland’s most beautiful villages, it still feels authentic rather than overly touristy. And Lac de Moiry is just 15 min drive away further up the valley🏔️ by @bitsofzaraa

Espace Weisshorn sits at 2,700 m above sea level in Val d’Anniviers, right in the Grimentz–Zinal mountain area. You can reach it easily by cable car from Grimentz or via the Zinal–Sorebois–Espace Weisshorn gondola, so you get all the high-mountain views without needing to hike up.

The restaurant focuses on seasonal, local cuisine and has a panoramic terrace with views over the surrounding peaks. We stopped here for lunch and the pizza was genuinely delicious, even better with that view. 🍕🏔️

Definitely one of those places where getting there is already part of the experience✨ by @bitsofzaraa

A little reminder of the things we need less of and the things we need more of🌿

For us, the best days are the ones spent in the mountains, making friends with farm animals, taking in everything around us and, ideally, ending the day with a little spa session✨

Less rushing, more noticing. Less stress, more of the things that make us feel present🤍

Both of our perspectives on life changed when we became parents.

Adventures don’t look the same anymore. Some days we hike for 8 hours, and some days we spend the afternoon at a playground, throwing rocks into the lake. And somehow, both feel equally beautiful in their own way.

We’re not only teaching him about life, we’re learning so much from him too. How to slow down, notice the little things and find joy in the simplest moments.

Grateful for every bit of this life together🤍 by @bitsofzaraa

Before we became a family of three, we already spent so much of our time outside. And when our little one was just three months old, we slowly started taking him along on our adventures too.

Now, being outside is one of his favourite things: waving at other hikers, playing with dirt, exploring everything around him and, of course, enjoying mountain food with us.

More than anything, I hope that love for nature stays with him as he grows. That he learns not only to enjoy these places, but also to appreciate them, respect them and take care of them.

And that’s something we’re happy to share with @transa.ch making outdoor adventures part of everyday life, consciously and for the long run 🤍

He might have ordered his favorite food: spaghetti Bolognese but quickly realized that mom’s Kaiserschmarrn was better🥧

And after a long 3-hour hike, he definitely enjoyed every bite, despite not having done a single meter of that elevation gain himself🐣

We actually set a new personal record hiking with our little boy: 810 m of elevation gain🏔️ And it went surprisingly smoothly, he slept, he snacked, he enjoyed the views, and by the time we reached the top, he was in the best mood for a well-deserved mountain meal✨ by @bitsofzaraa

Somehow, whenever we’re in Chamonix, it either rains or we’re only there for a short time. But these are still some of my favorite places and you can easily fit them into 2.5 days.

🥾 Lac Blanc: I’d start at Index, hike to Lac Blanc, then continue down past the Lacs des Chéserys to La Flégère and take the cable car back to Chamonix. One of my favorite routes in the area.

🏔️ Aiguille du Midi: on your way back down, make a stop at the middle station, Plan de l’Aiguille. There’s a little mountain hut where you can have a coffee or a small meal with a pretty incredible view.

🧊 Glacier des Bossons: we hiked up towards the former Chalet des Pyramides to see the glacier from closer up. The chalet itself isn’t there anymore, but the hike and the views are still worth it. If you have more time and feel fit, you can continue towards La Jonction, but that’s a much longer and more challenging hike.

And then, of course, leave some time to simply wander around Chamonix, eat something good and stare at the mountains.

I hope this helps if you’re planning a short trip. Chamonix will forever be one of our favorite places in the Alps 🤍 by @bitsofzaraa

I used to drag around one huge professional camera and at least two lenses everywhere with me. I also used to travel to places for the photos.

At some point, I slowly lost interest. Carrying all that gear, taking hundreds of photos and then spending hours editing them afterwards started to take the joy out of it.

Then I switched to my Fujifilm, and somewhere along the way my husband introduced me to film photography. 🎞️

This Olympus mju-II became my favorite. No complicated settings, no overthinking, just a little point-and-shoot.

And somehow, when I look at these photos, I’m immediately taken back to that exact moment. Maybe because film makes you slow down. You think a little more carefully before pressing the shutter instead of taking 100 photos of the same thing. And you don’t even know how it turned out until much later.

These days, I don’t go somewhere just to take photos anymore. I go there to feel it, experience it and be present.

The photos are simply the memories I bring back home🤍 by @bitsofzaraa
