I'm wholly obsessed with everything Amy does. She lights up any room she walks into or virtually beams into from YouTube/@flowermoxie (or now flips into through the pages of her new book - and it's with grace, a perfect eye, real love, incredible flowers, and hilarity. She's been one of my favorite people forever. I thought she was way too cool to be so nice to me when we were younger and when we grew up and my dad insisted we reconnect - I knew I was right. She's the epitome of cool in every way... And I'm so lucky to have her as an extra sister. I'm so completely proud of her. And even if she wasn't a close friend. I'd be just as obsessed with her new book "Blooms"... and this seating design...And the fencing style masks she designed. who can resist that kind of cleverness in a photo shoot promotion?!? Who even comes up with that kind of brilliance?! Amy does.
Buy the book. Go to her talks. Get inspired. Do flowers.

I think this might be my favorite picture of me and @easal ever. I'm definitely getting it put on canvas. by @bitterhoney

I love street art. I love great doors. Put them together and you get Funchal. I went full door crazy.

Heinrich the elf is back to remind you that there are a lot of stomach bugs and viruses going around this year that can cause vomiting. Remember to be kind and comforting to your vomity friends and family and always wash your hands!

My Palestinian nutcrackers. Complete with tatreez and olive branch patterns. Including some shots of my favorite details and some beginning to end progression pictures.

My dad loved nutcrackers and I carried on his love and typically every year buy a new nutcracker. I love all the ones I've bought... But I wanted some Palestinian ones and I couldn't find any - and I've wanted some giant-ish ones. So this year instead of buying one, I decided to make two. Apparently painting your own nutcrackers is very in right now. I had no idea but I'm into it.

I love them.

When things feel uncertain or hard, I think about the things I'm especially thankful for and how I got here. I'm so proud to be Palestinian and to feel strength through the love, hospitality, and resilience in my blood. I'm thankful for every time life felt like a mess and where I've ended up as a result.

So very grateful to have met @thenikkigomez and to then learn that she's an incredible photographer who happens to also do headshots. I needed new professional headshots and I decided to add on some others just for me.

I'm in love with what she captured and wanted to share.

Also if you need headshots or you just want a photo session for you... Maybe because all your friends are performers who get to do such cool photo shoots and headshots all the time and you maybe also have FOMO. Find Nikki. She's incredible!

Teita:
-When you made her laugh... She would really really laugh and her eyes had a sparkle in them that is unmatched. She loved when we were silly even though she always maintained a dignified poise.
-When you came home late... You knew she'd be waiting at the gate/door.
-If you had a favorite food... You better believe it was going to be waiting for you. And just when you craved it most.
-You smell jasmine? That's because she picked one from her perfect plant and put it in your hair.
-She would act like she didn't want Lucy (the dog) inside but Lucy knew better. And sneaking Lucy treats gave her away.
-Her garden bloomed and each fruit or flower smelled or tasted better than any you'd ever taste or smell elsewhere.

She was the quintessential matriarch of a family that she created and that surrounded her whether near or far.
She was homebase.

With all my college/graduate school, I wasn't able to go back as often during the digital era and I can't find pictures which are on hard drives somewhere of me and Teita the few times in the 2000-2010s I was able to go back. So I borrowed a few. Teita was central to our childhood and so I added in some pictures I just think are absolutely beautiful of my big sis Elaine with Teita Elaine and my mom and dad with her as well. I also had to include the last photo... Where I'm totally freaked out and Teita clearly has my back.

Teita, thank you for all your endless love.
