Calico Bass are badass. Unlocking a new lure to hammer them is also badass. 2026 may be the year of the @biwaa_usa Raffal, a 1 piece glide bait that swims as long as you turn the handle. Slow roll, burn. It won't blow out! We've even been trolling it up to 9mph 🤯

Yellows, bass, dare I say even wahoo eats this thing. It will only work on fish that eat other fish. I know, pretty limited scope of use here. *sarcasm*

Creeping around last night looking for striper. Finally able to land a back bayer to start my fall striper run! Was throwing the @biwaa_usa 5 inch RAFFAL in the mackerel color. Was allowing it to slowly glide to get a bite. Thank you @jreed930 for taking awesome photo! 2026 has come through with incredible opportunities! With that said, it's come with insane boat pressure on some of these community areas.

I do my best to stay outside and away from the crowd. However even when I do venture out to find our own fish, boats can't help but setup right on us when we find these fish. I had been sitting on this school on our own as boats steadily come in tighter and tighter. It's kind of wild, for if the tables were turned...

But I digress and focus on the next cast, even if its short because of the horde that descends upon us at times. With this pressure these yellowtail can be hard to fool as many of you have experienced this year. Some days they lose their minds and bite everything. That is often not the case and we fish diligently to maximize our opportunities.

Just because there are challenges each and every trip doesn't mean there isn't some kind of adjustment that can make a difference.

If you love throwing a surface iron like I do, this is right up your alley.

The @tady_lures Starman 112 had been hot for me this season. There are days however when I reach into my @yeti bucket for a different look. Look around my boat, we found this school of yellowtail and ended up having the fleet descend upon us which has been a recurring theme. Most boats are cordial and work together, a few are a little clueless and get yelled at on the sport boat intercom 🤣

The point of that is that these yellows are seeing incredible pressure from anglers. Adapt and you may find yourself coaxing a few more bites out of the mayhem.
