Just the other week I had the honour of having a piece about Bla(c)k Burlesque history published on @indigenousx
This piece was the longest I’ve ever spent on an article, with so much research and so many background convos informing what I was writing and how it would take shape. I can’t adequately put into words how much this piece means to me so please read it, share it and learn it.
This piece started as a convo with @kitty_obsidian, a request for info to @dolladazz and something I knew I had to write about as soon as I found out blak showgirl/showpony history was intertwined with boxer tents. I hope some of the names mentioned can be remembered and the women who have been lost to time be found. Please feel free to share and shout out any Blak Burly stars you know and love!
A special shout out to the Blak Burly title holders of 2025: @kitty_obsidian, @vidavoltaire, @the.salemmoon and @mother_eros 🏆

An absolute honour to receive this award and be presented it by Aunty Flo. I do not take this honour, title and the love from the community lightly. To our trans, enby and gender diverse siblings I see you and I love you. To my queer siblings with disablities of all kinds I see you and I love you. To my mob and my siblings of colour and my @point.of.change_ family, I love you entirely and thank you for having me. Thank you for fighting so hard for us, I hope one day you can rest. Biggest thank you to my wild and wonderful sissy @helenwheelsofficial for her banner. by @bizzibodyx

I didn’t just go to Tarndanya to dance, I went to headline Tassels & Tummies by @honeybmineproductions and what a truly wonderful time I had!

Everyone was so so lovely, both my nectar and honeycomb cast mates were immensely talented, I fell a little in love with Adelaide (I’m obsessed with the museum elevator squid) and I got to dance on the rooftop between the pool and bath at @nineteentenadl which was a dream!

I’m hunting for an excuse to come back, but thank you so much for having me and treating me so kindly while I was there 🩷✨

Beloved Wakka Wakka and Arrente performer @bizzibodyx is adding her voice to fivetofreeher.com THANK YOU BIZZI BB! Read her message and share with the world - community care is the way forward 💜

Five bucks can change the world!
Sisters Inside is asking everyone to pitch in $5 a week to ensure everyone we walk alongside has access to joy, safety and freedom.

As an ongoing supporter, you will support women and young people in our community. As state violence intensifies - through laws like “adult crime, adult time”
- our kids are being targeted and criminalised.

We are responding with love, care and connection, and so can you.
For less than a coffee a week you can change a life.

Please share our campaign with your family, friends, in your workplace, social groups and networks.

With your support, Sisters Inside can provide services and support, we can reach the people that need the most help, mothers, children, grandparents caring for little ones. We can fight harder for freedom.

From court support and housing to reuniting mothers with their children, every dollar helps us end the criminalisation of women and girls and build a world without prisons.
Your donation will help us work towards a brighter future for everyone.

🌏✨ HAVE YOU NOTICED SOMETHING EXTRA SPECIAL IN OUR ANNOUNCEMENTS? ✨🌏
We’ve been having the absolute best time revealing the incredible lineup for PIBF 2026! We hope you’ve all been loving seeing the First Nations country names featured alongside every single performer and troupe from right across Australia 🦘

Acknowledging the traditional lands where our artists live, train, and create is so important to us, but getting those details right takes a LOT of dedication behind the scenes 💯
We want to give a massive, glitter-filled SHOUTOUT and heartfelt THANK YOU to our incredible team member Bizzi Body! 🥰🎉
.
Bizzi worked tirelessly through every single location across the country to ensure all of our performer announcements respectfully honour the Traditional Owners of the lands our artists call home. Running through endless bios and mapping out locations is no small feat, and Bizzi tackled it with so much love and care! 🙌✨
.
Drop a 💖 in the comments below to show Bizzi Body some major love for all the behind-the-scenes magic! Keep your eyes peeled - we’ve still got plenty more excitement coming your way!
