It’s good to have a place that feels like home away from home. The mats. This was my first time traveling and dropping/visiting another academy out side of local open mats. I can’t thank everyone at @imanarijiujitsu enough for their hospitality, kindness, friendship, great rolls and the chance to feel normal. taken in 今成柔術 Imanari JIU JITSU by @bjdoesajj

Promoted to purple belt last week. Thankful for my coaches friends and training partners and all those around me. This was very unexpected, and I’m definitely having imposters syndrome but nothing changes. Keep trying to push myself to work harder, strive for more. TTWD. Special thanks to @sloanclymer @jake.ajj @salazar.jiujitsu and the entire @legion_ajj family. 🚀 by @bjdoesajj

NAGA 9/9/23. Pardon the essay. 1-1 in my division, and dropped first round of the absolutes. A lot to work on, and I’m looking forward to more change/evolution in who am as a person and grappler. Glad to hit a sub, and the half guard and (almost) kimura sweeps I’ve been working on. I’m glad my parents got to come see me. Today I ran into a lot of people I’ve met at previous tournaments or opens mats and other gyms and they all remembered me. Love to be apart of this community. Thank you to all my teammates and coaches. Special thanks to @salazar.jiujitsu and Cole for coaching me today, Sal is a beast coaching multiple mats at the same time 😂. Glad to put one on the board for @legion_ajj sorry it wasn’t more today. ANY DAY WE GET TO ROLL IS A GOOD DAY🗣️🗣️🗣️ by @bjdoesajj

Yesterday was a grueling day. I felt like shit and wanted to quit after the absolutes but I’m most proud that I stuck it out. In the end I went 1-1 in the absolutes, both by points taking 3rd. And 3-1 in my division taking gold with 2 subs (rnc and mounted guillotine). Both my subs were come from behind victories and the match I lost I ran out of time while working a deep guillotine, and lost on points. While I always aim for the submission, I need to work on taking control early, keeping control and not letting points stack up against me. I want to thank all my coaches and training partners and especially @nemeziojj for cornering and supporting me. I’m truly grateful. Back to work ! @legion_ajj by @bjdoesajj

Took 🥈 at SJJIF today. Got my first submission in competition via my favorite short choke to rear naked strangle which felt good. Lost on points in the finals. Glad to have pushed myself today and never gave up. More hard work to follow @legion_ajj by @bjdoesajj
