These past few weeks have taught me a very important lesson, to not take things for granted. With my bicep finally allowing me to start training a little more consistently, I’ve realized how something as simple as being healthy can be taken for granted. It’s been rough, physically, and especially mentally.

I am thankful for, my coach for the love and support he has poured into me the past 7 years.

Thankful for having a space to train, a space to develop into the man I am now, and partners who keep the vibe fun at @kolaajosejiujitsu

Thankful for my sponsor @thearmbarsoapcompany for the love and support. The entire crew is dope and I can’t wait to continue this journey with them 🆎

Thankful for my family, my friends and everyone who supports me through not only jiujitsu but through life.

And I’m thankful for life. Can’t wait to get back into my rhythm and feel like my self again 💪🏻

I’m able to find peace in the chaos when I train, makes everything else quiet, that’s why I love training so much.

I am still dealing with a lingering injury, that has stopped me from being able to train. With this time on the sidelines it’s made me realize how much I take for granted, and how much a healthy body, and time on the mats means that me.

Hurry up bicep and heal 🫩

Unfortunately, I am sitting out of this years Jiujitsu Con. I sustained an injury to my bicep last week and am making the difficult decision to sit out, rest and recover.

I will still be in Vegas, coaching, spectating and hanging out with my friends. Sucks, but the goal is in 9 months, not this week. Back at it soon ⏳

First and foremost I would like to thank God for giving me the strength, courage, and tenacity to compete at Pans. I am grateful to Coach Kola and Coach Will for believing in me, and for all their time, energy and support on and off the mat. I am thankful for my team and teammates for always being there for me. I would also like to thank my family for always being in my corner and supporting me regardless.

IBJJF PANS !

Always, my biggest and most grateful thank you is to the Lord. Without Him, I would not have had the courage, strength, confidence, and contentment with my matches over this weekend. I always like to remember that when I compete, no matter what happens that my identity is in Christ! Win or lose. Thank you Lord for protecting me and being with my throughout the journey, I give my thanks to you . 🙏🙏
Another big thank you to Coach Kola! Your dedication, belief, and time you have invested in me is so insane to me because I know your time is worthy for you and you sacrifice your own time for me. I am so thankful for you Coach and I know for a fact that without you pushing me or keeping me accountable, I would never have made it this far in my Jiu-Jistu Journey!!
Since there are a lot of big thank yous, I also want to give a BIG thank you to Coach Will! You have so much other things you can do but instead like Coach Kola, you invest a lot into me which I am so grateful for. Thank you for your constant support and belief in me !!
Thank you to the Tolai Family also for opening their house and time to me! Uncle Kevin, thank you for taking the time out of our day to show me new techniques and even just strengthening what I already know! These techniques were very useful in the tournament and I am so grateful!
To my parents, I want to thank you for encouraging my goals and dreams, it feels so unreal that I get to travel around the world just to do what I love. I am so grateful for you guys and I love you so much that I am glad that the Lord blessed me with parents like you!!
It is my last year of the kid tournaments and I did it! 2x PAN KIDS CHAMPION!! Never in a million years would I have thought I could accomplish this up until last year. My belief and mindset has changed so much and especially this year felt super strong. I was ranked last seed and was a little discouraged after Nationals but the way I responded I am proud of. I worked even harder, was able to take a mental break, and strengthened my relationship with the Lord. Thank you to both girls I faced during this tournament, you guys are amazing! Next Up …. Debated on wether or not I should post about this years Worlds, but I realized that I shouldn’t be ashamed, or embarrassed about the result because I am proud of the work and sacrifice I put in to get here. Obviously the result is not what I expected or hoped for, making my Brown Belt debut against one of the top competitors in my bracket I knew it was gonna be a battle. I ended up surprising my self with my performance and am filled with confidence for the upcoming events.

Big thank you to everyone who supports me in this crazy journey, my family who makes this all possible, my teammates and acadmey who have grinded with me and to my coach for everything he does for me off and on the mat 🫶🏻

Big thank you to @alliancecobrinha and Professor @cobrinhacharles for welcoming me into the Worlds camp and allowing me to be immersed into their system. Definitely learned a lot and looking forward to visiting again.

Debuting that new @thearmbarsoapcompany Summer Comp Gi, keep your eyes peeled 👀

Thanks to everyone who supports me, I’ll be announcing the next championship I will be participating in soon…
