20)i have a have a dr. pepper now listen to this psa: for a long time, i struggled with feeling uncomfortable protesting or speaking out publicly. i worried that my silence meant complicity - that if i wasn’t loud, i wasn’t doing enough. that i wasnt fixing anything. i respect and am inspired by those who take to the streets, but many many circumstances in my life dont allow me to do that. over time, i've realized activism isn’t one-size-fits-all. what matters isn’t how loudly we speak, but that we engage in ways true to us, sustainable, thoughtful, and intentional.

nows the time to do things. but we shouldn't be too prescriptive as to what should be done. some people may wanna protest, some may want to post, some may want to organize, some may influence their families. people are allowed to and should show up in ways that work for them. people can be too fussy with each other about which tactics are working best and who's doing the most amount of resistance, etc. as senator brian shatz of hawaii once said, "this is a potluck. you bring macaroni salad, thank you very much. you bring napkins, thank you very much". you bring what you can, and you'll be thanked. if you disagree dm me

again, what matters is that you show up how you can. create a space for conversation, support people in ways that align with your strengths. build an infrastructure of love, mutual aid, care, and, as i like to call it, overly aggressive generosity lol. and don’t forget to rest - i know your asses are not resting. by @bjmedina_

about a year ago i had the pleasure to hang out and chat with the fantastic @geloyconcepcion, a main inspiration for me to go out, shoot film, and get to know those around me. im so horrible at developing film, but finally got around to getting some shots from that day. thanks for everything you do, hope to hang soon!
