A heartfelt thank-you to all of the generous patrons and partners of BK’s Soirée in the Vieux Carré happening this Sunday, October 11 from 6 to 9 PM. Your support is helping Historic BK House & Gardens take an important next step in caring for this remarkable 200-year-old property. Funds raised through the Soirée will support urgently needed restoration to the facades of the three historic dependency buildings that frame BK’s Courtyard Garden, which was restored by Frances Parkinson Keyes in 1947. The project will address deteriorating doors, windows, shutters, weatherboards and soffits — including restoring eight casement and French door openings. Where possible, original materials will be repaired and retained, while historically accurate millwork will replace elements that can no longer be saved. These repairs will help protect the buildings from water intrusion, wind, mold and extreme weather while ensuring that BK continues to meet the highest standards of historic preservation. by @bkhousenola

Sunday, October 11, 2026 | 6–9 PM 1113 Chartres Street Tickets and patron sponsorship opportunities: https://www.bkhouse.org/programs/oct-11-soiree-in-the-vieux-carre/ Come celebrate two centuries of history with an unforgettable evening featuring: • Exquisite cuisine from Messina’s Catering & Events and a birthday cake deliciously crafted by Swiss Confectionery • Fragrant botanical arrangements by Peregrin's Florist • Flowing libations, including wines from Caymus Vineyards • Live entertainment by Sharon Martin & First Take and Jesse McBride • A fabulous raffle featuring a lively painting of BK’s exterior by local artist Amzie Adams • And, for patrons who register at the Hawthorne Level or higher, a chance to win a 14-karat gold emerald and diamond drop pendant, courtesy of French Quarter neighbor Joey DiFatta But this celebration is about more than a birthday. It’s about ensuring BK’s next 200 years. Proceeds from this year’s Soirée will support essential preservation work on the historic dependency buildings surrounding the courtyard, helping protect their doors, windows, shutters, weatherboards and soffits from water, wind, mold and New Orleans’ famously unforgiving weather. by @bkhousenola
