POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

It’s taken me a month to fully put into words how much of a lasting impact my organization's recent Reclaiming Vacant Properties Conference (RVP), held in St. Louis, MO, has had on me.

Having been part of the organization for going on five years, never would I have imagined that I would be the current President and CEO, and that I would be “GOING DEEP” with my remarks in front of 1,000 changemakers.

The hugs, the accolades, the media coverage, the momentum… all pale in comparison to being in the presence of so many people who dare to address systemic vacancy by seeing the beauty in transforming neighborhoods and lives.

I shared my opening remarks not knowing how it would resonate with the masses that I lead from a place of trauma not ego, but here we are… a little over 30 days later, and people are still asking for a recording of my words. “MY” words… wow.

So, here they are...

P.s. As you listen, I hope the theme of “purpose, not titles” resonates as it pertains to the #peoplecentered/ #humancentered work I, and so many others, are called to do.

To the woman I am proud to call my mother.... SCREAMING "HAPPY BIRTHDAY Ketly Guillaume!!!!"

Mommy, I love YOU sooooo much. Thank you for your constant presence and for instilling in me the type of woman I should be. Can't wait to dance and celebrate your 80 years of life with you this weekend ❤️.

#KnicksNation the world may be crumbling around us, but our greatest defiance is Joy. Let's relish in this win that some of us have been publicly waiting for for decades. For those of us going through adversity, remember Brunson was doubted his entire life (too small, short, slow etc.) and he proved the entire world wrong. It didn't happen over night (*crying as I write) but he stuck through it and led an organization that faced heartache into glory.
The joy I face right now is immeasurable as I fell in love with this sport 40+ years ago when I was just 10 years old. My favorite older cousin Jude Massillon is undoubtedly smiling from heaven as he and I were die-hard Knicks fans who LITERALLY watched the 2025 Knicks playoffs together until he transitioned in May 2025 of cancer. That's what this win means to me.
I come from a family who were/are Haitian soccer legends (*more to share), and track and field superstars but basketball was/is the American sport we adopted (my cousin's names are Kareem- born in the 80s, and my younger nephew is named Kyrie Hally Saysum Speak).
My soul needed this win, this message, this lesson, and as a lifelong #KnicksNation member, I will never EVER EVER forget where I was, and what I was doing on June 13th 2026.
Thank you to my sister-bestie Dameya Ellis for commissioning this graphic work of me. I love you, I love the Knicks, I love US. by @bklyn_kat
